Montgomery County police officers found Roske near Kavanaugh\u2019s residence, where they took him into custody.<\/p>\n<p>According to FBI special agent Ian Montijo, Roske intended to kill Kavanaugh and then commit suicide.<\/p>\n<p>According to the court filing, Roske neared Kavanaugh\u2019s home only to see two U.S. deputy marshals standing guard, prompting him to leave and call the Emergency Communications Center<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRoske then told the detective that he was upset about the leak of a recent Supreme Court draft decision regarding the right to abortion as well as the recent school shooting in Uvalde, Texas,\u201d the FBI said, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/armed-man-arrested-outside-brett-kavanaughs-house-wanted-to-kill-justice-over-potential-roe-v-wade-reversal-report\">The Washington Examiner<\/a> reported. \u201cRoske indicated that the Justice that he intended to kill would side with Second Amendment decisions that would loosen gun control laws.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRoske stated that he began thinking about how to give his life a purpose and decided that he would kill the Supreme Court Justice after finding the Justice\u2019s Montgomery County address on the Internet,\u201d the FBI agent continued. \u201cRoske further indicated that he had purchased the Glock pistol and the other items for the purpose of breaking into the Justice\u2019s residence and killing the Justice as well as himself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In March 2020, speaking to a crowd of abortion supporters, New York Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, referring to two Supreme Court appointees of President Trump\u2019s, Neal Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, <a href=\"https:\/\/wskg.org\/supreme-court-weighs-abortion-case-schumer-remarks-draw-rebuke-from-roberts\/\">ranted<\/a>, \u201cYou have unleashed the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won\u2019t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chief Justice John Roberts fired back at the time, \u201cJustices know that criticism comes with the territory, but threatening statements of this sort from the highest levels of government are not only inappropriate, they are dangerous.
