Jolie allegedly illegally sold her shares to Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Pitt claims Jolie intentionally sold her stake behind his back to a \u201cstranger with poisonous associations and intentions\u201d to \u201cinflict harm,\u201d while contributing\u00a0\u201cnothing to Miraval\u2019s success.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The filing explains that Jolie \u201cplanned to sell her interest in October to Tenute del Mondo, which is \u2018bent on taking control of Miraval\u2019 and is \u2018indirectly owned and controlled by Yuri Shefler, the Russian billionaire who controls the Stoli Group,&#8217;\u201d People magazine <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/movies\/brad-pitt-sues-angelina-jolie-over-sale-wine-company-stake\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJolie pursued and then consummated the purported sale in secret, purposely keeping Pitt in the dark, and knowingly violating Pitt\u2019s contractual rights,\u201d Pitt\u2019s legal team charged.<\/p>\n<p>Pitt claims he and his ex-wife \u201chad an agreement that neither would sell their business interests in Miraval without the other party\u2019s consent,\u201d Vanity Fair <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/style\/2022\/06\/brad-pitt-angelina-jolie-miraval-wine-company-lawsuit-selling-stake-stoli-group?redirectURL=https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/style\/2022\/06\/brad-pitt-angelina-jolie-miraval-wine-company-lawsuit-selling-stake-stoli-group\">noted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The report added that\u00a0Jolie \u201cwas previously cleared to sell her share of Miraval in September, but Pitt claims that her business, Nouvel, owed his company, Mondo Bongo, the right of first refusal and this sale violates that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Back in February, Pitt filed a lawsuit against Jolie over the alleged illegal off-loading of her shares to the Russian businessman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPress is reporting that Mr. Pitt has filed another lawsuit against Ms. Jolie,\u201d Jolie legal representative\u00a0Robert Olson\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/brad-pitt-sues-angelina-jolie-selling-chateau-miraval-winery-yuri-shefler-1680482\">told<\/a> Newsweek at the time. \u201cShe has not yet been served, and we are instead learning about the complaint from the media who appear to have been given access to the report to create a press story prior to Ms. Jolie even being served.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Miraval was a \u201cpassion\u201d project for Pitt, earning a stellar reputation and developing the \u201cworld\u2019s most highly regarded producers of ros\u00e9 wine\u201d before Jolie\u2019s allegedly illegal moves, the court documents further accuse.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Pitt is asking for a trial by jury and damages \u201cin an amount to be proven at trial\u201d for Jolie\u2019s alleged actions, and seeking that the actress\u2019\u00a0stake in Miraval be declared \u201cnull and void.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">The actor is suing over \u201cbreach of implied-in-fact contract; breach of quasi-contract pleaded in the alternative; breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing; abuse of rights under Article 6-1 of the Luxembourg Civil Code; tortious interference with contractual relations; tortious interference with prospective business relations; and constructive trust,\u201d People reported.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brad Pitt\u00a0 filed new court documents last week in his ongoing legal suit against ex-wife Angelina Jolie, accusing the actress of intentionally causing damage to his business reputation by illegally off-loading her stake in their wine company without his consent or knowledge.
