Never mind the routine riots of left-wing anarchists preceding Jan. 6 that Democrats <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/01\/07\/28-times-media-and-democrats-excused-or-endorsed-violence-committed-by-left-wing-activists\/\">excused and celebrated<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir challenge: Making the public care deeply \u2014 and read hundreds of pages more \u2014 about an event that happened more than a year ago, and that many Americans feel they already understand,\u201d the Post reported in March, followed by the passage below (emphasis added):<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>They\u2019ll attempt to do so this spring through public hearings, along with a potential interim report and a final report that will be published ahead of the November midterms \u2014 with the\u00a0<strong>findings likely a key part of the Democrats midterm strategy<\/strong>. They hope their recommendations to prevent another insurrection will be adopted, but also that their work will repel voters from Republicans who they say helped propel the attack.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On Twitter, House Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy highlighted Goldston\u2019s tenure as president of ABC News from 2014 to 2021 as one where the network<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2019\/11\/05\/leaked-abc-news-anchor-claims-jeffrey-epstein-story-three-years-ago\/\"> suppressed<\/a> blockbuster revelations about sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Democrats have turned to the former ABC News exec, under whose leadership ABC spiked a story on Jeffrey Epstein, to choreograph their Jan. 6 political theatre,\u201d McCarthy <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GOPLeader\/status\/1533908533489573889?s=20&#038;t=xOAt2jwF4JdwiFOjHg1XVg\">wrote<\/a> on Twitter. <\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/McCarthy-Tweet-on-J6-ABC-News-Hire.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-273593\" width=\"671\" height=\"590\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/McCarthy-Tweet-on-J6-ABC-News-Hire.jpg 903w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/McCarthy-Tweet-on-J6-ABC-News-Hire-300x264-1.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/McCarthy-Tweet-on-J6-ABC-News-Hire-768x676-1.jpg 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Thursday\u2019s hearing will likely be a regurgitation of the Democrats\u2019 snap impeachment proceedings initiated days after the riot at the Capitol. The committee established to investigate the security failures at the complex, however, has already sworn off any genuine investigation of House Speaker Nancy <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/12\/16\/nancy-pelosi-owns-january-6\/\">Pelosi\u2019s own negligence<\/a>, and Republican appointments have been barred from serving on the panel.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<p>\n  Tristan Justice is the western correspondent for The Federalist.
