The thing I hear about is gasoline. What are you going to do to bring down the gas prices?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/gasprices.aaa.com\/state-gas-price-averages\/\">AAA<\/a>, gas prices in California are currently averaging $6.34 per gallon, with the national average of regular gasoline at $4.86 across the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Yahoo Finance <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/californians-sound-off-on-high-gas-prices-130632263.html\">noted<\/a> that if someone is filling up their vehicles in California with 16 gallons or more, they are shelling out more than $100 to do so.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cIt\u2019s terrible,\u201d Lisa, a driver in California, told Yahoo Finance. \u201cI can\u2019t go visit my grandkids in Ventura County because of the gas prices, and then I work far away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The outlet pointed out that at a station in Mendocino, which is north of San Francisco, the cost was close to $10 a gallon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Schlafer\u2019s Auto Body &#038; Repair,\u00a0the Mendocino station, is regularly <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/06\/04\/gas-nears-10-a-gallon-at-california-station-tops-5-in-nyc\/\">thought to be<\/a> the priciest in the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The owner, Judy Schlafer, told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/bayarea\/article\/California-gas-nears-10-dollars-17218407.php\">SFGate.com<\/a> that she recently got 8,880 gallons of gasoline, which needs to be paid in 10 days. She said the amount cost around $50,000, but said the same amount cost around $20,000 less three months ago. If she didn\u2019t charge customers $9.60, she wouldn\u2019t be able to keep running her business. She also claimed gas is just as pricey in other areas.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI\u2019m going to be lucky if I make the year with all the fees, the regulation, the payroll fees,\u201d she said.\u00a0\u201cIf it continues the way it is, Mendocino won\u2019t have a gas station next year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Such price hikes are putting a damper on Democrats\u2019 prospects in the state, The New York Times reported. The outlet pointed out, however, that gas costs in the Golden State are ordinarily higher than in any other state due to regulations and taxation.
