It\u2019s so sad that he was able to get away with the abuse. The judgment furthers that abuse. If you can please help her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Moore claimed to have been in contact with Heard\u2019s legal team and pledged that the \u201cAquaman\u201d actress would have direct access to the money raised.<\/p>\n<p>A GoFundMe spokesperson told TMZ that they were quickly able to flag the profile as phony before a substantial amount of money was raised. (Courtesy of GoFundMe)<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cOur top priority is to keep our community safe and protect the generosity of our donors,\u201d a spokesperson for the platform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10884565\/GoFundMe-shuts-1million-page-claiming-raise-cash-Amber-Heard-pay-Johnny-Depp.html?ito=social-twitter_dailymailUK\">told<\/a> The Daily Mail. \u201cGoFundMe will remove any fundraisers unless there\u2019s a direct connection and the fundraiser has been authorized by the recipient of the funds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This past week, a\u00a0jury\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ntd.com\/jury-reaches-verdict-in-johnny-depp-amber-heard-defamation-trial_787836.html\">reached a verdict<\/a>\u00a0in relation to Depp\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-lawsuit\">lawsuit<\/a> against ex-wife Heard. Jurors concluded that the 36-year-old actress defamed her ex-husband when she wrote a 2018 opinion article for the Washington Post.<\/p>\n<p>In favor of Depp, the jury awarded compensatory damages of $10 million and punitive damages of $5 million\u2014which was reduced by Judge Penney Azcarate to Virginia\u2019s $350,000 statutory cap. (Shawn Thew\/Pool Photo via AP)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Bredehoft also said that Heard wants to appeal the case, saying her client \u201chas some excellent grounds for it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The lawyer insisted that Heard was \u201cdemonized\u201d by Depp\u2019s team during the case, claiming \u201can enormous amount of evidence\u201d that was used in her UK case \u201cwas suppressed\u201d in the Virginia trial.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA number of things were allowed in this court that should not have been allowed, and it caused the jury to be confused,\u201d Bredehoft said. \u201cWe weren\u2019t allowed to tell them about the UK judgment, so the damages is completely skewed. There are no damages, it stopped on Nov. 2, 2020, which is when the verdict came down in the UK.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 6-week-long trial, which drew numerous international headlines, included lurid details of the celebrities\u2019 short and volatile marriage. Heard testified that Depp physically or sexually assaulted her more than a dozen times.
