Hunter Biden, who has battled serious drug addiction for years, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/03\/25\/secret-service-got-involved-in-bizarre-gun-case-involving-hunter-biden-report\/\">bought a .38-caliber revolver<\/a> in Delaware just five days before recording the sex tape on Oct. 17, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter  had lied to staff about where he purchased the gun seen on the clip and also answered no when previously asked if he was an \u201cunlawful user\u201d of drugs on a firearm transaction report, according to Radar Online.<\/p>\n<p>Two separate photos showed Hunter\u2019s hand on the trigger of the gun as he cupped his genital area, while a third image showed what appeared to be crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia on paper plates, including a spoon.<\/p>\n<div noopener\">struggles with addiction led to his 2017 divorce from Kathleen Buhle<\/a>, was discharged from the US Navy Reserve three years earlier after testing positive for cocaine.<\/p>\n<p>Just weeks before illegally buying the weapon, Biden\u2019s lover, Hallie Biden, the widow of his late brother Beau Biden, tossed the gun into a supermarket garbage can, setting off a Secret Service and FBI probe in which no charges were filed, Radar Online reported.<\/p>\n<p>The new leak is tied to more than 30 gigabytes of  photos, videos and messages from Hunter Biden\u2019s iPhone over a showing Hunter Biden aiming the weapon at a camera at one point comes amid a rash of mass shootings throughout the US, including at least 11 on Saturday and Sunday alone that left at least 15 people dead and 61 injured, data shows.<\/p>\n<p>The spate of mass shootings has prompted President Biden to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/06\/02\/biden-to-deliver-primetime-gun-speech-before-leaving-delaware\/\">call for increased gun control<\/a>, including a ban on assault weapons.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI respect the culture and the tradition and the concerns of lawful gun owners,\u201d Biden said Thursday from the White House.\u00a0\u201cAt the same time, the Second Amendment, like all other rights, is not absolute.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden also called for lawmakers to address the nation\u2019s \u201cmental health crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a serious youth mental health crisis in this country we have to do something about,\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u2019s why mental health is at the heart of my unity agenda that I laid out in the State of Union address. We must provide more school counselors, more school nurses, more mental health services for students and for teachers.
