On the day that Biden was inaugurated, gas <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210121050022\/https:\/gasprices.aaa.com\/\">cost<\/a> motorists just $2.393 per gallon on average.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoe Biden\u2019s war on American energy has forced families across the country to empty their wallets to fill their tanks,\u201d Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in an email to The Daily Wire. \u201cUnfortunately, Biden is doubling-down on his disastrous agenda because he\u2019s not the one paying the price \u2013 the American people are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-says-he-cant-click-a-switch-to-lower-gas-prices-in-the-near-term\">reported<\/a> that Biden suggested the high cost of gasoline is here to stay for quite some time, as he lamented to reporters that it is \u201cnot likely\u201d he can simply \u201cclick a switch\u201d to bring down prices.<\/p>\n<p>Biden made his remarks regarding gasoline from the White House-crafted fake Oval Office set \u2014 which he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/biden-white-house-oval-office-teleprompter\">reportedly<\/a> uses so that he can stay on a script from a teleprompter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a lot going on right now, but the idea we\u2019re gonna be able to, you know, click a switch, bring down the cost of gasoline is not likely in the near term, nor is it with regard to food,\u201d Biden said at the time.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BIDEN: &#8220;The idea we&#8217;re gonna be able to, you know, click a switch, bring down the cost of gasoline is not likely in the near term.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lXNtUZzzbs\">pic.twitter.com\/lXNtUZzzbs<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 RNC Research (@RNCResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1532092105476259845?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 1, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Biden previously suggested that the high cost of gasoline eventually will be beneficial to Americans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHere\u2019s the situation,\u201d Biden\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-slammed-for-remarks-on-enormously-high-gas-prices-theyre-saying-the-quiet-part-out-loud-now\">said<\/a> in May when asked directly about the \u201cenormously high\u201d cost of gas. \u201cAnd when it comes to the gas prices, we\u2019re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it\u2019s over, we\u2019ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The New York Post <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/06\/03\/joe-biden-pins-record-gas-grocery-prices-on-vladimir-putin\/\">flagged<\/a> on Friday that Biden is still trying to pin the blame for the high cost of gas on Russian President Vladimir Putin\u2019s invasion of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe two challenges on the minds of most working families are prices at the pump and prices at the grocery store. Both of these challenges have been directly exacerbated by Putin\u2019s war in Ukraine,\u201d Biden lamented.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe price of gas is up $1.40 since the beginning of the year when Putin began amassing troops at the Ukrainian border,\u201d the president added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a Putin price hike.
