According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-06-01\/jamie-dimon-says-bank-is-bracing-itself-for-economic-hurricane?cmpid=socialflow-twitter-business&#038;utm_medium=social&#038;utm_campaign=socialflow-organic&#038;utm_content=business&#038;utm_source=twitter\">Bloomberg<\/a>, Dimon said &#8220;we don\u2019t know if it\u2019s a minor one or Superstorm Sandy. You better brace yourself.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\"><\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>The prediction came after recent and sustained drops in the company&#8217;s shares. JPMorgan Chase has reduced growth estimates for the next several quarters by roughly a percentage point as a reflection of their CEO&#8217;s prediction. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>Dimon&#8217;s solution to the forthcoming calamity for JPMorgan Chase was &#8220;to shed non-operating deposits again.&#8221; Non-operating deposits include various financial assets that come into and move out of a bank so quickly that they don&#8217;t provide any liquidity for the company. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>His advice wasn&#8217;t limited strictly to investment in America&#8217;s largest bank. Dimon advised everyone to adopt a more fiscally conservative stance in preparation for what&#8217;s to come.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>One of the most foreboding qualities of the storm is how the Fed intends to stifle inflation, which has <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/inflation-hits-highest-point-in-nearly-four-decades\">reached unprecedented highs<\/a>. To address the problem, the Fed is going to begin a process called quantitative tightening. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>In quantitative tightening, the Federal Reserve will reduce its supply of monetary reserves by allowing bonds to reach maturity. When a bond fully matures it is paid out and no longer garners interest. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>The sustained war in Ukraine and its effect on supply chains will continue to add unpredictability to the fiscal landscape.
