He said Intel is adding 20,000 new jobs for making computer chips. <\/p>\n<p>The comments came after Musk wrote an email to Tesla executives in which he expressed his desire to cut 10% of the workforce, according to <i>Reuters<\/i>. In the email, titled \u201cPause all hiring worldwide,\u201d Musk described his trepidations about where the economy is headed. <\/p>\n<p>Musk, who is the world\u2019s wealthiest person, also founded SpaceX, which is working on a lunar lander that will return humans to the surface of the moon for the first time since 1972. There are hopes that astronauts will land on the moon by 2025 at the earliest. <\/p>\n<p>Musk has been a critic of Biden and has targeted the president for focusing on other companies investing in electric vehicles despite Tesla being the world\u2019s largest producer of the eco-friendly cars. <\/p>\n<p>The billionaire, who aspires to own Twitter, tweeted earlier this year that Biden is \u201ctreating the American public <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/elon-musk-says-biden-treating-people-like-fools-calls-him-damp-sock-puppet\">like fools<\/a>.\u201d He also branded Biden \u201ca damp [sock] puppet in human form.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Musk isn\u2019t the only executive who is bracing for potential economic malaise. JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/economy\/jamie-dimon-warns-of-economic-hurricane\">warned investors<\/a> this week to be prepared for an economic \u201churricane.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Dimon said the Federal Reserve\u2019s continued interest rate hikes, combined with uncertainty surrounding the war in Ukraine, is causing his firm to batten down the hatches. <\/p>\n<p><b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know, I said there\u2019s storm clouds, but I\u2019m going to change it \u2026 it\u2019s a hurricane,\u201d Dimon said at a Wednesday conference. The economic maelstrom could be \u201ca minor one or Superstorm Sandy,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n<p>The stock market has also been in retreat since the start of the year, as investors fear the economic effects of the rate hikes.
