These remarks are in light of <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/inflation-hits-highest-point-in-nearly-four-decades\">record-high inflation.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\"><\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/02\/08\/consumer-debt-totals-15point6-trillion-after-a-record-breaking-increase-in-2021.html\">CNBC<\/a> American consumers ended last year with an accumulative 15.6 trillion dollars of debt, which they described as a &#8220;record-breaking increase.&#8221; In today&#8217;s remarks, Biden did not clarify the metric he used to qualify his claim.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>In March of last year, Biden passed his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/american-rescue-plan\/\">American Rescue Plan<\/a> which was a <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/president-elect-biden-announces-1-9-trillion-american-rescue-plan\">1.9 trillion dollar stimulus package<\/a> that continued payments directly to American families. Economic Impact Payments of $1,400 went to individuals, $2,800 for married couples, and $1,400 each dependent.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>The bill also extended unemployment benefits, continued the eviction moratorium, and dispensed cash in a variety of other ways to state and local governments. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>Despite the White House <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/white-house-continues-to-blame-putin-for-inflation-high-gas-prices\">blaming Putin<\/a> for current record inflation, the 2021 Stimulus was responsible for overheating the American economy and <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/bidenflation-consumer-prices-surge-to-40-year-high\">causing record inflation<\/a>.
