A firearm was recovered at the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement said that the incident appeared to be a \u201ctargeted act.\u201d The Daily Mail <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-gb\/news\/world\/breaking-news-former-wisconsin-judge-killed-by-a-militia-member-at-his-home\/ar-AAY3D8b\">reported<\/a> that the suspect was an alleged militia member who had a hit list that included the state\u2019s governor, Tony Evers.<\/p>\n<p>Kaul said that the other names on the list appeared \u201cto be related to the judicial system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt this point\u00a0we are not aware of any evidence that there is any active danger to other individuals,\u201d Kaul said. \u201cThose who may have been other targets have been notified.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Law enforcement officials became aware of the incident after a call was made to the Juneau County Sheriff\u2019s Office at 6:30 a.m. \u201cnotifying law enforcement of an armed person and two shots fired in a Township of New Lisbon residence,\u201d the state\u2019s DOJ said. \u201cThe caller had exited the home and contacted law enforcement from a nearby home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Multiple law enforcement agencies are involved in the investigation into the incident, including the FBI.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>This is a breaking news story; refresh the page for updates.<\/p>\n<p><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A former judge was murdered at his home in Wisconsin on Friday in what state officials are calling a \u201ctargeted act\u201d that was carried out by a suspect who had a hit list of other targets.
