The department has previously indicted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/person\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">former Trump adviser<\/a> Stephen K. In an interview with Fox News, he called any possible prosecution of him &#8220;domestic terrorism.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Navarro continues to assert executive privilege since he worked at the Trump White House and said he was exempt from appearing before the committee.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The House has also voted to hold former Trump aide Dan Scavino and former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows in contempt of Congress, but the DOJ has not prosecuted them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/centrist-group-no-labels-jan-6-committee-partisan-exercise\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>CENTRIST GROUP NO LABELS TURNS ON JAN. 6 COMMITTEE: \u2018PARTISAN EXERCISE\u2019<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The committee, which is investigating the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/us\/capitol-protests\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">January 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol<\/a> by Trump supporters seeking to stop congressional certification of the 2020 election, issued the subpoena in February 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The subpoena sought a deposition and documents from Navarro, but Navarro refused, according to the indictment.
