Cevey says Collins promised her the money; he says that\u2019s a lie. The pair divorced in 2008, then reunited briefly from 2016 until 2019 before she married Thomas Bates, 32, in August 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The black magic claims come from a 2021 deposition of Cevey\u2019s former head of security, Franck Pala, that was just made public, The New York Post <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/06\/01\/phil-collins-ex-allegedly-paid-to-use-black-magic-on-singer\/\">reported<\/a>. The employee testified under oath that Cevey intended to put \u201csome substances\u201d in her then-husband\u2019s wine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These unknown items were acquired from a man in Colombia who dabbled in \u201cblack magic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you know anything about an effort to \u2014 I\u2019m going to call it \u2014 poison Phil or give him unknown substances?\u201d Collins\u2019 attorney Jeffrey Fisher asked Pala.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI heard about Mrs. Collins ask another employee of the house to do some kind of magical things and pay for the services, and in return, put some substances in white wine for Mr. Phil Collins \u2026 It\u2019s like how you believe in black magic from Colombia, whatever you want to call it,\u201d Pala replied.<\/p>\n<p>The lawyer continued the same line of questioning, asking what Cevey was attempting when she was planning on \u201cputting this black magic on Phil.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Pala responded, \u201cMaybe trying to empower herself over him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Post confirmed that it was never made clear if Cevey received items from the Colombian person or attempted other black magic spells on Collins.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In April, Collins\u2019 legal team claimed Cevey was guilty of \u201cfraud on the court\u201d as she tried to collect money from the Miami home sale.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are literally dozens of additional irreconcilable conflicts between [Cevey\u2019s] position in this case and her pleadings, financial affidavit, and other documents filed in her 2016 divorce from her former husband Charles [Mejati].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is not the only legal issue Cevey faced this year. The 48-year-old was also under investigation by the Child Protective Investigative unit of Florida\u2019s Department of Children and Families in January, Page Six <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2022\/04\/29\/phil-collinss-ex-wife-alleged-to-have-punched-son-10\/?_ga=2.68975189.571168997.1654174801-2094951064.1646063333\">reported<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cevey\u2019s 10-year-old son Andrea, whom she shares with her second husband Mejjati, was moved in with his father after she was accused of physically assaulting him and causing \u201ctoxic, causing emotional and mental instability for him,\u201d court records said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The filing said she battered the child, causing a concussion, plus exposed him to sexually explicit actions when she engaged in sexual acts in front of him with her third husband.
