He faced up to two years in prison for the former, and 20 for the latter.<\/p>\n<p>Of the four years, 30 months will be served concurrently with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/michael-avenatti-sentenced-prison-nike\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2 1\/2-year sentence<\/a> he was previously given in a separate case for trying to extort Nike out of $25 million.<\/p>\n<p>Avenatti spoke for 12 minutes at the sentencing, acknowledging the &#8220;series of mistakes&#8221; and &#8220;poor judgment&#8221; he exercised.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/judge-denies-michael-avenattis-bid-sentenced-remotely-stormy-daniels-says-see-ya-there-b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>MICHAEL AVENATTI&#8217;S BID TO BE SENTENCED REMOTELY DENIED: STORMY DANIELS QUIPS, \u2018SEE YA THERE, B&#8212;-!\u2019<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I will forever be branded \u2018disgraced lawyer\u2019 and worse,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of sentencing, Avenatti had sent a letter apologizing to Daniels, but the judge said this gesture was &#8220;too little, too late.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Avenatti did not want to appear in court for sentencing and had requested to be sentenced remotely. Judge Furman denied the request, ordering him to appear.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In the Court\u2019s view, the gravity and significance of the sentencing proceeding would be ill served by a remote proceeding,&#8221; Furman wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Daniels took delight in the ruling, tweeting, &#8220;&#8221;See ya there, b&#8212;-!&#8230; except I&#8217;m flying in first class. Trump has denied that the affair took place.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Avenatti <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/avenatti-media-debacle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was a ubiquitous presence on television<\/a> during his legal battle against Trump.
