The claim stems from a satire website.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Rittenhouse shot and killed two men and injured a third in Kenosha, Wisconsin in August 2020, in what he said was self-defense, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/nation\/2021\/11\/19\/rittenhouse-verdict-live-updates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Washington Post<\/a>. He\u00a0was found not guilty on all charges related to the shooting by a jury in November 2021, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook image, shared more than 270 times, claims Rittenhouse settled a lawsuit with \u201cThe View\u201d for a sum of $22 million and a public apology for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/whoopi-goldberg-kyle-rittenhouse-murder-acquittal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">remarks<\/a> made about him on the show. \u201cGreat lesson for the hate filled left!!!,\u201d the post\u2019s caption reads in part.<\/p>\n<p>Rittenhouse has not sued or settled with \u201cThe View.\u201d No such announcement appears on Rittenhouse\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=The%20View%20(from%3A%40ThisIsKyleR)&#038;src=typed_query&#038;f=top\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/thisiskylerittenhouse\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">media<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/page\/105148578683703\/search\/?q=The%20View\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">accounts<\/a> or on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmap.org\/news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a>. There are likewise no credible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=rittenhouse+sues+the+view&#038;source=lnms&#038;tbm=nws&#038;sa=X&#038;ved=2ahUKEwjVju_kgI34AhWCQTABHaaLAhgQ_AUoAXoECAEQAw&#038;biw=1440&#038;bih=821&#038;dpr=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">news reports<\/a> suggesting he had filed a lawsuit against the show or had reached a settlement.<\/p>\n<p>Lauri Hogan, a spokesperson for ABC, confirmed to Check Your Fact in an email that the claim was false. The site\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/usataters.com\/sample-page\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">About Us<\/a>\u201d page indicates the outlet is part of \u201cAmerica\u2019s Last Line of Defense,\u201d which it describes as a \u201cnetwork of parody, satire, and tomfoolery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverything on this website is fiction.
