In the end, Heard was left with an $8.35 million bill to Depp, a ruling she has vowed to appeal.<\/p>\n<p>Depp was effectively awarded $10.35 million for his suit, while Heard was awarded $2 million for hers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExperts have suggested that there is \u2018no way back for Heard in Hollywood\u2019 adding that the dramatic six-week court battle has left the actress, 36, \u2018too icky for a studio,\u2019 raising questions about her career and future earnings,\u201d the Daily Mail <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10877955\/Heard-faces-career-ruin-bankruptcy-Johnny-Depp-battle.html\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Heard\u2019s problems may widen well beyond her Hollywood career.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHollywood bosses are unlikely to consider her for roles going forward. Financially, the actress and witnesses alluded to her money troubles, while the huge outpouring of support for Depp may lead to brands and companies avoiding her,\u201d the Mail wrote.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Heard\u2019s assets may come into play, which include a $570,000 hideaway in Yucca Valley, as well as a Range Rover she got in the divorce, according to The Daily Mail.<\/p>\n<p>Then again, Heard reportedly has 30 years to pay off her debt, and there are some other scenarios in which she may not have to pay at all.<\/p>\n<p>Depp, who said he \u201cgot his life back\u201d because of the jury\u2019s decision, could simply not demand payment. \u201cHe\u2019s in the driver\u2019s seat right now. For an individual who doesn\u2019t have the ability to pay the judgment and no ability to post the bond, then there is a real issue if the winning party intends to execute the judgment,\u201d Attorney Sandra Spurgeon of Spurgeon Law Group in Lexington, Kentucky, told the Mail.<\/p>\n<p>Another option is paying the debt off little by little \u2014 whether she likes it or not. She could find her wages garnished, \u201cmeaning a portion of her salary from future films or TV shows could go to Depp until the debt is covered,\u201d the Mail reported.<\/p>\n<p>But Elaine Bredehoft, Heard\u2019s lawyer, summed it all up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen asked if the \u2018Aquaman\u2019 actress would be able to pay the $10.4 million in damages to her Hollywood star ex, Bredehoft replied: \u2018Oh, no, absolutely not,&#8217;\u201d the New York Post <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/06\/02\/amber-heards-lawyer-elaine-bredehoft-speaks-on-today-show-after-johnny-depp-trial\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Joseph Curl has covered politics for 35 years, including 12 years as White House correspondent for a national newspaper.
