Reflecting on the fact that a jury had <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-johnny-depp-wins-in-defamation-case-against-amber-heard\/\">found Heard guilty<\/a> not only of defamation but of malicious intent as well \u2014 awarding Depp $10 million in compensation and $5 million in punitive damages \u2014 Kelly argued that Heard was a \u201cwalking red flag.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think she\u2019s professionally ruined for the time being. I\u2019m not sure whether she comes back from this, even in a town that\u2019s very liberal and that would be much more in the knee jerk \u2018I believe all women camp,&#8217;\u201d Kelly explained.<\/p>\n<p>She went on to argue that at least as far as Heard\u2019s career was concerned, the trial that truly mattered had played out in the court of public of opinion. \u201cThe problem for her in Hollywood is not that a jury has said what it\u2019s said. The problem for her in Hollywood is the nation watched this trial and they decided she was a liar and he was a truth-teller.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, they were manipulated by the press. Yes, they saw YouTube mashups that the jury didn\u2019t see and all of that, but they had the opportunity to decide with her in the court of public opinion, if that\u2019s how they were feeling and in watching her testimonial and so on, they didn\u2019t,\u201d Kelly added, noting that the court of public opinion was more likely than a jury to be manipulated by what was being said in the media \u2014 and that had worked in Depp\u2019s favor as well.<\/p>\n<p>She went on to mention the fact that petitions had already begun to circulate calling for Heard to be dropped from the next \u201cAquaman\u201d film \u2014 and she pointed out the fact that as much as Hollywood had rallied behind the \u201cbelieve all women\u201d mantra, at the end of the day, movie producers still wanted to make money. If they believed casting Amber Heard would lower the box office value of a film, they were less likely to take the risk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey don\u2019t wanna see her. She\u2019s come to represent more than a woman who falsely accused a beloved actor. She\u2019s come to represent all women who women and men feel have made false accusations. Now that\u2019s unfair, but that\u2019s where we are.
