MSNBC has seen its demo viewership drop sharply in recent weeks and ended May with its lowest day time demo average since November 1999 and its lowest prime time average since May 2004.<\/p>\n<p>Fox News scored the top 7 programs in the month of May, with the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/tv\/just-in-maddow-announces-shes-scaling-back-to-mondays-only-on-msnbc\/\"> Monday-only<\/a><em> Rachel Maddow Show<\/em> landing in 8th place for the month.<\/p>\n<p>Fox scored the rest of the top twenty shows, with the exception of <strong>Lawrence O\u2019Donnell, Chris Hayes,<\/strong> <strong>Nicolle Wallace,<\/strong> and <em>MSNBC Prime<\/em> scoring the 16th through 19th slots \u2013respectively.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Five<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/the-five-finishes-as-no-1-cable-news-program-laura-ingraham-outdraws-rachel-maddow-for-top-solo-female\">remained<\/a> the most-watched show on all of cable in May, bringing in 3.279 million total viewers, followed closely behind by <em>Tucker Carlson Tonight\u2019s<\/em> 3.23 million total viewers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sean Hannity<\/strong> landed in third place with 2.72 million total viewers, despite some stiff competition from <strong>Jesse Watters<\/strong> who came in fourth with 2.64 million total viewers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brett Baier, Laura Ingraham,<\/strong> and<strong> Greg Gutfeld<\/strong> rounded out the top 7 places in the ratings \u2013 respectively. Maddow landed in 8th place with 1.95 million total viewers.<\/p>\n<p>Gutfeld\u2019s late-night panel show continues to surge past its competition, landing in second place behind <strong>Stephen Colbert<\/strong> for the month of May. While beating Colbert multiple times in May, Gutfeld\u2019s 2 million viewer average wasn\u2019t quite enough to surpass the CBS mainstay, but did surge Fox past ABC\u2019s <em>Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/em> and NBC\u2019s <em>The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon<\/em> in total viewers. Gutfeld also beat Comedy Central\u2019s <em>The Daily Show<\/em> and TBS\u2019<em> Full Frontal with Samantha Bee<\/em> in both total viewers and in the key younger age demographic.<\/p>\n<p>CNN\u2019s top-rated show in May was <em>Anderson Cooper 360,<\/em> which hauled in an average of 759,000 total average viewers and landed in 25th place overall.
