Although the Biden administration previously considered giving gas cards to Americans, there are no longer plans to do so, according to CNN.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The average price of gas reached a record high this week, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/06\/01\/energy\/gas-prices-inflation\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNN<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/gas-prices-record-5-per-gallon-united-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">analysts<\/a> suggest it may climb higher. A Facebook post claims the Biden administration will be sending every American a $5 gas card in an attempt to mitigate the rising prices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBiden to give every American a $5.00 gas card to help ease peoples pocket books,\u201d reads the May 31 Facebook post. Notably, the post does not include a source for this information. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/04\/05\/fact-check-kamala-harris-gas-price-quote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Kamala Harris Say, \u2018Gas Prices Are High Due To Gas Prices Not Being Low\u2019?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>The claim is inaccurate. There is no mention of such a plan on the White House <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a> or on the president\u2019s verified <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=gas%20card%20(from%3AJoeBiden)&#038;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/potus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">media<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile\/100077835098866\/search\/?q=gas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">accounts<\/a>.
