A BBC News spokesperson confirmed the outlet never published such a tweet.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The image shared on Facebook appears to show a screenshot of an alleged May 20 tweet from the verified BBC News Twitter account about Saudi Arabia announcing a \u201cstraight pride month\u201d in June 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSaudi Arabia has announced its intention to hold \u2018International Straight Pride Month\u2019 during June of 2022,\u201d the alleged tweet reads. \u201cA Saudi spokesperson explained that the event was designed to \u2018celebrate those who follow laws of God,\u2019 and that \u2018straight men are discriminated against in many places.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span>There is no record of BBC News sending such a tweet. It does not appear on the outlet\u2019s <\/span><span>verified <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=straight%20pride%20month%20saudi%20arabia%20(from%3Abbcworld)&#038;src=typed_query\"><span>Twitter<\/span><\/a><span> account. There is also no mention of the alleged development in Saudi Arabia on BBC\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/search?q=straight+pride+month+Saudi+Arabia&#038;page=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a> or social <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/search\/posts?q=saudi%20arabia%20straight%20pride&#038;filters=eyJycF9hdXRob3I6MCI6IntcIm5hbWVcIjpcImF1dGhvclwiLFwiYXJnc1wiOlwiMzI2ODIyMjI1NDkzMzc4XCJ9In0%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">media<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/bbcnews\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">accounts<\/a>.
