The verdict will be read later this afternoon.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Verdict at 3pm <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/deppvsheard?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#deppvsheard<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Chanley Sh\u00e1 Painter (@ChanleyCourtTV) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChanleyCourtTV\/status\/1532052202373754880?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 1, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Depp is suing Heard, his ex-wife, for $50 million over an op-ed she penned about domestic violence published by The Washington Post in 2018. The \u201cAquaman\u201d actress has countersued for $100 million.<\/p>\n<p>During the intense trial, Heard has detailed serious allegations of abuse at the hands of Depp, including a rape with a possibly broken Maker\u2019s Mark bottle. Depp and his legal team have denied all allegations, telling the jury that Heard is perpetrating a #MeToo hoax to take from Depp, and also to punish him for leaving her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t know if the bottle he had inside me was broken,\u201d Heard <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/watch-amber-heard-sobs-uncontrollably-on-stand-recalling-depp-allegedly-beating-penetrating-her-with-bottle\">said<\/a> on the stand this month, recalling an alleged incident from 2015 in Australia. \u201cI couldn\u2019t feel it. I couldn\u2019t feel anything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy nightgown came completely off, it was ripped off of me,\u201d the actress told the jury, noting that Depp was allegedly repeatedly punching the wall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was naked, slipping around on this tile,\u201d she claimed. Depp was allegedly \u201cscreaming\u201d that Heard \u201cruined his life\u201d and that he \u201cf***ing\u201d hated her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m looking in his eyes, I don\u2019t see him anymore,\u201d a sobbing Heard said, breathing heavily. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t him. It was black. I\u2019ve never been so scared in my life. I was trying to get through to Johnny and I couldn\u2019t see him at all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Depp attorney Camille Vasquez said during closing arguments last week that Heard\u2019s accusations were part of a hoax against her client.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe gave the performance of her life,\u201d Vasquez said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe came into this courtroom prepared to give the performance of her life, and she gave it,\u201d the attorney\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/camille-vasquez-accuses-amber-heard-sobbing-without-tears-1710914\">continued<\/a>. \u201cMs. Heard\u2019s acting coach, Kristina Sexton, testified that Ms. Heard has difficulty crying when she is acting. You saw it, Ms. Heard sobbing\u00a0without tears while spinning elaborate, exaggerated, fantastical accounts of abuse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a performance,\u201d Vasquez told the jury. \u201cShe told you what she thinks you need to hear to convict this man as a domestic abuser and a rapist. She wants you to believe she was abused countless times. Countless times over the entire course of their relationship.
