Do you guys think that any part of inflation this year is because of President Biden\u2019s spending plans, or is it all Putin\u2019s fault?&#8221; asked Doocy.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\"><\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>Karine Jean-Pierre\u2019s response:<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>&#8220;Well what I can say is, we are &#8211; and Brian just spoke to this &#8211; we are at a historic place when it comes to the economy. When it comes to unemployment being at the lowest that we have seen in some time. When it comes to the President creating more jobs in his first term, his first year, than any other president. More than 8.5 million jobs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>On Monday, Biden published an op-ed for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/my-plan-for-fighting-inflation-joe-biden-gas-prices-economy-unemployment-jobs-covid-11653940654\"><em>Wall Street Journal<\/em><\/a><em> <\/em>where he outlined his plans for fighting inflation. He <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/biden-jerome-powell-government-and-politics-economy-2b9295779a17e425d0d8da6f0f82176e\">met<\/a> with Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell to discuss the matter on Tuesday. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>The White House press secretary in her response echoed the talking points mentioned in Biden\u2019s piece:<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>&#8220;Now, we\u2019re going to a place where we\u2019re going into transition. We\u2019re going to see an economy that\u2019s more stable, that\u2019s more steady. So that\u2019s because of the American Rescue Plan that we, that the President signed into law, that no Republican signed, or voted for, I should say. And all of that work that he\u2019s done the first year, has led us to a place where there are more jobs out there, more jobs are being created, that we are in a place where we\u2019re seeing economic growth.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>&#8220;Now, and also, as I\u2019ve stated: this is an unprecedented time. With COVID. This is an unprecedented time, with the war, and so [that] Putin has created and started, on Ukraine. And so we have seen, data has shown us, since these past couple of months, since the war, we have seen an uptick on gas prices.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>In a follow-up, Peter Doocy asked: &#8220;Does President Biden take any responsibility for his policies potentially contributing to inflation?&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<figure class=\"kg-card kg-embed-card\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Peter Doocy: &#8220;Does president Biden take any responsibility for his policies potentially contributing to inflation?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Karine Jean-Pierre: &#8220;His policies has helped the economy get back on its feet.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/JQO92HnVU9\">pic.twitter.com\/JQO92HnVU9<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Post Millennial (@TPostMillennial) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TPostMillennial\/status\/1531720019637305349?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 31, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>&#8220;His policies [have] helped the economy get back on its feet. That\u2019s what his policies [have] done,&#8221; Jean-Pierre responded.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>She reiterated: &#8220;When we talk about the gas prices right now, this is indeed Putin\u2019s gas hike. This is what we have seen in the most recent months, of what we\u2019re seeing at the gas pump. And so that is a fact. We have seen about a 60 percent increase in the past several months and because of the amassing and his invasion of Ukraine, and so the President his goal right now, and what he is frustrated about, is what the American people have to go through, and what they are trying to deal with, as they are around their kitchen tables. So that is his focus right now.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>President Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2022\/03\/08\/fact-sheet-united-states-bans-imports-of-russian-oil-liquefied-natural-gas-and-coal\/\">signed<\/a> an Executive Order to ban Russian oil, coal, and natural gas imports into the United States back in early March. In his public address he <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/breaking-biden-says-gas-prices-will-rise-calls-it-putins-price-hike\">asserted<\/a> that it would target &#8220;the main artery of Russia&#8217;s economy,&#8221; but even CBS News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/russia-ruble-currency-2022\/\">recently reported<\/a> that Russian ruble is the &#8220;strongest currency in the world&#8221; so far this year.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>The average price for a gallon of gas in California <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/05\/27\/business\/energy-environment\/gas-prices-summer-driving.html?smid=tw-nytimes&#038;smtyp=cur\">surpassed<\/a> six dollars over Memorial Day weekend, with the national average setting yet again another record on Tuesday at $4.62 per gallon.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>Peter Doocy <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/watch-doocy-asks-if-white-house-is-going-to-blame-putin-for-everything-until-the-midterms\">asked<\/a> the former press secretary, Jen Psaki, the same questions about the White House\u2019s economic blame game back in March.
