It is unclear what prompted the <em>Post<\/em> to showcase the property on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Seiden said the property went back on the market on Nov. 13, 2020, and that there has been some interest this go-around. &#8220;We had one offer since we put it back on, but the buyer and seller couldn&#8217;t come to terms,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Both McCaskill and her husband Joseph Shepard, a wealthy businessman who has made <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/politics\/mccaskills-husband-makes-millions-flipping-government-tax-credits\/\">millions of dollars flipping government tax credits<\/a>, praised the property they purchased in 2014 for $2.7 million.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When we were home, we felt a million miles away, especially having a drink with a good book on the terrace,&#8221; McCaskill wrote in an email to the <em>Post<\/em>. &#8220;That place is a natural stress reliever.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Shepard shared in praise for the condo&#8217;s outdoor space, which according to the&nbsp;<em>Post<\/em>&nbsp;is a 1,000-square-foot, three-level private terrace with a gas fire pit, gas grill, and sound system with both indoor and outdoor speakers. &#8220;A quick elevator ride to my workout, and when I got back, out to our terrace for my morning coffee, where I could put on my music with my phone,&#8221; Shepard said.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Post<\/em> did not respond to a request for comment regarding the property&#8217;s prior listing.<\/p>\n<p>McCaskill and Shepard also <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/politics\/claire-mccaskills-private-plane-used-on-campaigns-rv-tour-through-missouri\/\">own a private plane<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-8 hide-print\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1526555381173-4\" class=\"mobile-250 desktop-90\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nearly two years after initially listing her posh Washington, D.C., condo, former Democratic senator Claire McCaskill has failed to sell the multimillion-dollar penthouse unit\u2014even after taking hundreds of thousands off &#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":2181559,"comment_status":"close","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_mo_disable_npp":"","fifu_image_url":"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/GettyImages-1056547526.jpg","fifu_image_alt":"Claire McCaskill Struggling to Sell Posh D.C.
