What does the White House want these people to do? Just stop driving to work?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Karine Jean-Pierre says Biden &#8220;understands what it feels like&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Pu4BbC8U35\">pic.twitter.com\/Pu4BbC8U35<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CurtisHouck\/status\/1531722398520823808?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 31, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jean-Pierre responded by saying that President Biden understood what the American people were feeling. \u201cHe understands what it means for people who are sitting at their kitchen table and see gas prices go up,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>She then pivoted to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/doocy-jabs-at-psaki-are-you-guys-going-to-just-start-blaming-putin-for-everything-until-the-midterms\/\">blame the rising prices<\/a> on Russian President Vladimir Putin, arguing that the pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine were the main drivers impacting inflation.<\/p>\n<p>Doocy pushed back, asking whether the Biden administration believed that any of their policies were impacting inflation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou just mentioned Putin a few times as a reason for recent inflation. Do you guys think that any part of inflation this year is because of President Biden\u2019s spending plans? Or is it all Putin\u2019s fault?\u201d Doocy asked.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Doocy: &#8220;You just mentioned Putin a few times as a reason for recent inflation. Or is it all Putin&#8217;s fault?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Pierre says the economy&#8217;s &#8220;at a historic place&#8221; with job creation &#038; unemployment <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/e1D4dSIbss\">pic.twitter.com\/e1D4dSIbss<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CurtisHouck\/status\/1531722821235253254?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 31, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jean-Pierre responded by touting low unemployment numbers and claiming that Biden\u2019s policies were the reason that he had been able to \u201ccreate\u201d more jobs than any other president in his first year \u2014 and then circled back to blaming Putin.<\/p>\n<p>Doocy made one more attempt to get a straight answer with regard to Biden\u2019s policies and their impact on inflation. \u201cSo I guess the next question would be, does President Biden take any responsibility for his policies potentially contributing to inflation?\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Doocy: &#8220;Does President Biden take any responsibility for his policies potentially contributing to inflation?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Karine Jean-Pierre: &#8220;His policies has [sic] helped the economy gets back on its feet. This is what we have seen in the most recent months of what we\u2019re seeing at the gas pump.
