During the interview, she called it a \u201chidden epidemic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her symptoms included \u201chair loss, weight gain, heavy metal toxicity, leaky gut and fatigue among many other things,\u201d including thyroid problems. At first, she thought aging had something to do with symptoms but eventually discovered the implants were the culprit. These negative health issues began three years after the implants were put in.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Patrick recalls feeling \u201cexcited\u201d at the prospect of surgery, hoping it would solve the medical issues that she\u2019d been experiencing for years.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would tell the [hospital scheduler], \u2018If I can get it tomorrow, I\u2019ll come in tomorrow. Just let me know.\u2019 It\u2019s like if you were going to have a baby. I\u2019ve never had a baby before, but I\u2019m betting that, at the very end, even though you\u2019re having this daunting experience in front of you, whether it\u2019s pushing a baby out or maybe a C-section, yes it\u2019s a lot to deal with, but you\u2019re also so ready because you just can\u2019t wait to meet your baby,\u201d she told Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re just that excited. And you\u2019re like, \u2018Let\u2019s do this.\u2019 I imagine it\u2019s maybe something like that. That\u2019s how I felt.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Patrick claims she started feeling better \u201chours\u201d after having her implants surgically removed.<\/p>\n<p>To some extent, the racing veteran believes doctors downplay side effects because it would cut into their profits.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s impossible to put a foreign object in your body and not have your body respond to some degree. Every individual is different, of course,\u201d she said during the interview. \u201cBut are we really doing enough studies on them? Are people truly educated on the potential side effects and risks? Doctors tell us that they\u2019re safe, but they\u2019re also selling them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Patrick said health issues aside, she\u2019s happier now without the implants.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel like I look better, to be honest. I know that sounds crazy, but it\u2019s true,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m glad they\u2019re out. I feel more like myself. I can give people hugs and not have these implants in the way.
