The news of Gladney\u2019s death first surfaced in a tweet from his former TCU teammate and current Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jalen Reagor, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.star-telegram.com\/sports\/college\/big-12\/texas-christian-university\/article261948210.html\">according<\/a> to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLost my Brother, my best friend, my right hand man\u2026 ain\u2019t too much more I can take man damn!\u201d Reagor tweeted. \u201cR.I.P Jeff Gladney, brother watch over me please.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Lost my Brother, my best friend, my right hand man\u2026 ain\u2019t too much more I can take man damn!<\/p>\n<p>R.I.P Jeff Gladney, brother watch over me please.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Reag (@jalenreagor) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jalenreagor\/status\/1531327563485917185?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 30, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Dallas County Sheriff\u2019s Department said one other person was killed in the crash along with Gladney at 2:30 a.m. The cause of the crash is being investigated, USA Today <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/nfl\/cardinals\/2022\/05\/30\/cardinals-cornerback-jeff-gladney-dies-age-25\/9995364002\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Gladney started 42 games over five seasons for the Horned Frogs, where he received All-Big 12 honors his senior year. He was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/nfl\/news\/jeff-gladney-dies-at-25-former-nfl-first-round-pick-involved-in-fatal-car-accident-on-memorial-day\/\">drafted<\/a> 31st overall in the 2020 NFL draft by the Vikings and played in all 16 regular-season games in 2020, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/players\/jeff-gladney\/stats\/career\">recording<\/a> 75 total tackles.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Gladney sat out the 2021 season after being released from the Vikings as he faced charges of felony assault against a former girlfriend. He then signed on with the Arizona Cardinals in March of this year after a jury found him not guilty.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are devastated to learn [of] Jeff Gladney\u2019s passing,\u201d the Cardinals said in a statement as reported by the Star-Telegram. \u201cOur hearts go out to his family, friends and all who are mourning this tremendous loss.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Vikings also took to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jalenreagor\/status\/1531327563485917185\">Twitter<\/a> to share their condolences. \u201cWe are saddened by the tragic death of former Viking Jeff Gladney.
