The story originates from a satirical website.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Facebook post includes what appears to be two screenshots of a news story that recounts how a couple in Missouri came home to discover their babysitter had attempted to cook and eat their 3-month-old child. The story alleges the babysitter was under the influence of crystal meth and alcohol and the child was found in the microwave with teeth marks on his body.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDude this this is scary,\u201d reads the Facebook post\u2019s caption. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2020\/10\/20\/fact-check-lottery-winner-arrested-manure-former-boss-lawn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did A Lottery Winner Get Arrested For Leaving $200,000 Worth Of Manure On The Lawn Of His Former Boss?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is no evidence such an incident actually occurred. Check Your Fact searched local news outlets, such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stltoday.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">St. Louis Post-Dispatch<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kansascity.com\/search\/?q=babysitter+meth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Kansas City Star<\/a>, but found no reports about the incident. A search of the Jefferson County Sheriff\u2019s Office <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jcsd.org\/Search?searchPhrase=meth%20baby\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a> likewise yielded no results about a woman being arrested for attempting to eat a child.<\/p>\n<p>A reverse image search revealed the mugshot featured in the post shows a woman who was arrested in 2016 for domestic battery charges in Columbus, Indiana, according to an article from <a href=\"https:\/\/fox59.com\/news\/indycrime\/columbus-woman-arrested-for-domestic-battery-with-child-present\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fox 59<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Through a keyword search, Check Your Fact found the story originated from <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/bXtlP\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">World News Daily Report<\/a>, a satirical website.
