suffered a horrific crash as his car broke in half during the Monaco Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p>The 23-year-old German lost control of his car on lap 27 of the\u00a0Monte Carlo race.<\/p>\n<p>And as he spun around he clipped the barriers before shunting the car into the wall and splitting it in half.<\/p>\n<p>Schumacher walked away from the incident without any serious injuries, but the race was still red flagged after attempts to clear the debris with a yellow flag were unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p>Schumacher\u2019s team Haas confirmed that he was OK with a short tweet.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HaasF1Team\/status\/1530924219466498050\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">post<\/a>\u00a0read: \u201cMick has a really big accident at the Swimming Pool Chicane.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s out of the car and ok.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The incident was Schumacher\u2019s second high-speed crash of the season after he also\u00a0suffered a big one in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n<p>And this time it meant the end of Haas\u2019 Monaco GP hopes as their other driver Kevin Magnussen had already retired from the race.<\/p>\n<p>It came after the race had been\u00a0delayed by more than an hour\u00a0due to heavy rain causing safety concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Formula One\u2019s flagship race was due to get underway at 2 p.m. BST on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/schumacher-getty-02.jpg\"><\/a><figcaption>Haas F1 Team\u2019s the race.<\/p>\n<p>It was then confirmed that the formation lap would get underway at 2:16 p.m., 16 minutes later than scheduled.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a behind the safety car, a red flag was waved and all of the drivers returned to the pits.<\/p>\n<p>There was then a lengthy wait before the race got going behind the safety car shortly after 3 p.m. \u2014 over an hour later than originally planned.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a
