However, over the years she\u2019s become something of a conservative icon thanks to how she\u2019s proudly living out her Christian faith.<\/p>\n<p>The mother-of-three is still involved in Hollywood projects, including the massively popular \u201cAurora Teagarden\u201d mystery series on The Hallmark Channel. However, Bure recently announced that she\u2019d be leaving the network to join Great American Country (GAC) along with several other prominent former Hallmark stars.<\/p>\n<p>Many fans \u2013 especially viewers who loved seeing the actress portray a librarian with a knack for solving murders \u2013 were disappointed to hear that Bure was leaving. They speculated it had something to do with Hallmark pushing a progressive agenda in recent years. However, the reality of why Bure quit Hallmark could be something simpler.<\/p>\n<p>As The Daily Wire previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/full-house-star-candace-cameron-bure-to-create-and-star-in-faith-filled-wholesome-content-for-the-whole-family\">reported<\/a>, the 46-year-old star said in a statement, \u201cI\u2019m very excited to develop heartwarming family and faith-filled programming and make the kind of stories my family and I love to watch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGAC fits my brand perfectly,\u201d she continued. \u201c[We] share a vision of creating compelling wholesome content for an audience who wants to watch programming for and with the whole family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The use of words like \u201cwholesome\u201d and \u201cfaith-filled\u201d seem to have factored into Bure\u2019s decision to leave Hallmark. Especially since she re-joined previous Crown Media Family Networks CEO Bill Abbott, who left the Hallmark network just one month after controversy involving a commercial featuring a same-sex lesbian couple.<\/p>\n<p>First the network pulled two out of the four Zola ads in December 2019 when viewers complained about the same-sex marriage content, per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/feature\/nbc-out\/hallmark-channel-parent-ceo-out-after-same-sex-marriage-ad-n1120616\">NBC News<\/a>. Then Hallmark CEO Mike Perry apologized the next day for pulling the ads and promptly put them back on air.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Abbott resigned in January 2021 and immediately went on to acquire GAC, which fans can assume will not promote the LGBT agenda. Bure, meanwhile, made some interesting comments on the Hallmark network\u2019s intentional move toward more diverse programming.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHallmark has definitely made changes in that direction, which we are all very, very happy to see,\u201d the \u201cFuller House\u201d star told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insider.com\/candace-cameron-bure-hallmark-lack-of-diversity-2021-11\">Insider<\/a>, speaking about the 2021 film \u201cThe Christmas Contest.\u201d The actress plays a woman who reunited with her ex to raise money for charity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very important to me in all the casting that we do for the films, and it\u2019s important to represent all people and all of their journeys and their family dynamics,\u201d she continued, noting that everyone\u2019s family looks \u201cso different.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The publication tried to make it seem like Bure was speaking about films like \u201cThe Christmas House\u201d (2020), which features a lesbian couple. Her comments were vague, however, and could have applied to any number of unique family situations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been with this brand for a very long time and I understand what it\u2019s all about and who the audience is and what they\u2019re looking for, because as a producer, as well as an actress, it\u2019s what I\u2019m looking for in the films. So I have taken that very seriously,\u201d Bure told the publication.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Hollywood star moved to GAC and left behind a legacy at Hallmark in a decision that appeared to be, at least in part, motivated by money. Newsweek <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/candace-cameron-bure-hallmark-channel-gac-family-aurora-teagarden-1699267\">reported<\/a> that GAC made Bure \u201can offer she cannot refuse\u2014or that Crown Media (who own Hallmark) could not match.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bure will be producing, developing and starring in movies and TV shows across both GAC Family and GAC Living in addition to taking on a \u201cprominent executive role\u201d at the company. While specific financial details weren\u2019t revealed, it appears this move will provide the mom of three with more money and more opportunities to flex her creative muscles and influence the content.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She will also be in charge of creating \u201cyear-round seasonal celebration content for the networks\u201d and play a huge role in \u201cthe company\u2019s annual Great American Christmas franchise,\u201d a press release said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Abbott\u2019s intentions for GAC are crystal clear. The former Hallmark exec says he aims for the cable network to become the \u201cleader in family television\u201d and to release content that is counter to what is currently available.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buzzsprout.com\/1909166\/10007356-interview-with-media-ceo-president-bill-abbott?t=0\">interview<\/a> on \u201cUp Next With John Contratti,\u201d Abbott said, \u201cWe want to be relentlessly family-friendly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The exec claimed to be \u201cpassionate\u201d about wholesome family-focused content. \u201cThere\u2019s so much need for family content and the market in this space,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s pretty scary, quite frankly, the amount of content that\u2019s out there \u2026 the vast majority of content is salacious and is not appropriate for any member of the family, really.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere isn\u2019t a lot of family content out there,\u201d he continued. \u201cIf you look in the last 20 years, it\u2019d be real hard to find a show that you can watch in its entirety with your family and not have some point that would make you uncomfortable if you\u2019re<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Candace Cameron Bure is best known for her portrayal of DJ Tanner on \u201cFull House,\u201d a popular 90s sitcom.
