Now, Meghan\u2019s estranged half-sister Samantha Markle is accusing the royal of \u201celder abuse\u201d and \u201cnegligence\u201d for not going to visit their father after this devastating event.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This is really sad. That\u2019s negligence,\u201d Samantha said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/05\/26\/meghan-markles-half-sister-accuses-duchess-of-elder-abuse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf she can\u2019t find it in her heart or have the moral conscience to step forward then shame on her,\u201d she added. \u201cHe doesn\u2019t have a lot of time. I\u2019m getting the feeling that I would be spinning my wheels to try and appeal to her heart now,\u201d Samantha said. \u201cShe could have contacted him to work things out at any time and she hasn\u2019t. Who does that?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Watch Samantha talk more about her father\u2019s stroke in the video below.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-block full\">\n[embedded content]\n<\/div>\n<h3><strong>Thomas\u2019 Stroke<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>After suffering a stroke at his home in Tijuana, Thomas was rushed across the border to a hospital in\u00a0Chula Vista, California late Monday night. The stroke was so bad that Thomas was not even able to speak to paramedics to tell them his symptoms, and instead had to write them down.<\/p>\n<p>Samantha immediately flew to California from her home in Florida to be with her father during this difficult time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy father is recovering in [the] hospital,\u201d Samantha told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10850461\/Meghans-father-Thomas-Markle-suffered-major-stroke-reveals-DAN-WOOTTON.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daily Mail.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe ask for privacy for the family, for his health and wellbeing. He just needs peace and rest,\u201d she continued. \u201cIt\u2019s a travesty how much he\u2019s been tortured and how much he\u2019s had to go through thanks to my sister\u2019s disregard the past few years. There, he was to be hosted by Lady Colin Campbell. He was set to attend various events that would honor the Queen\u2019s record-breaking seventy years on the British throne.<\/p>\n<p>Meghan has not spoken to Thomas since before her 2018 marriage to Prince Harry, and she is understood to have not had contact with Samantha since years before that.
