Be empowered that you are using safely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The sign included a number of \u201chelpful\u201d tips for those who wanted to \u201cuse safely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Under the section labeled \u201cWhat is fentanyl?\u201d the description read, \u201cFentanyl is a powerful opioid that can be found in heroin, cocaine, crack, methamphetamine, ketamine, and pressed pills.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A second section answered the question, \u201cWhy is it dangerous?\u201d by saying,\u00a0\u201cFentanyl increases the risk of overdose, especially among people who do not regularly use opioids.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The final section listed several steps that users could take in an effort to \u201cempower\u201d themselves to \u201cuse safely\u201d and \u201cprevent overdose.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAvoid using alone and take turns\u201d\u201cStart with a small dose and go slowly\u201d\u201cHave Naloxone on hand\u201d\u201cAvoid mixing drugs\u201d\u201cTest your drugs using fentanyl test strips\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, @NYCHealthy, heroin addiction is not empowering. This is the opposite of \u2018harm reduction.\u2019 This normalizes injecting deadly life-changing drugs,\u201d Borelli commented along with the photo. \u201cThis is twisted.
