It does not show real footage from the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ukraine claims its military has killed nearly 30,000 Russian troops and destroyed over 370 Russian helicopters and aircraft, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukrinform.net\/rubric-ato\/3492559-ukraine-army-destroys-about-29600-enemy-troops-and-1315-tanks.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ukrinform<\/a>. The success of the Ukrainian resistance is in part due to the weapons the U.S. and its allies have provided the country, which include thousands of anti-aircraft missiles, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/aerospace-defense\/exclusive-us-army-replenishes-stinger-missiles-after-ukraine-shipments-2022-05-27\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Reuters<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A video shared on Facebook appears to show some of these weapons in action. The five-minute Facebook video, viewed more than 3.2 million times, shows what appears to be Ukrainian soldiers firing rockets at Russian helicopters. \u201cDirect hit from MANPADS destroyed Russian helicopters,\u201d reads the video\u2019s title.<\/p>\n<p>A reverse image search revealed the footage is from <a href=\"https:\/\/arma3.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ARMA 3<\/a>, a military-style video game simulator created by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bohemia.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bohemia Interactive<\/a>. The video first appeared on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bdbwJCJmZlg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YouTube<\/a> May 15 where it was shared by user <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bdbwJCJmZlg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ARMA Zone<\/a> with the same title. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/05\/11\/fact-check-ukraine-destroys-russian-tanks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does This Video Show Ukrainian Forces Destroying Eight Russian Tanks?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>Both the YouTube video\u2019s description and title include a Disclaimer about its origins. \u201cARMA 3: AC-130 Gunship in Action | Military Simulator,\u201d reads part of the video\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bdbwJCJmZlg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">description<\/a>. The ARMA Zone YouTube channel has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Wm6DLD6SLmE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">posted<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ikKuhqspzUg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">multiple<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kx0OyvC2ZfY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">videos<\/a> simulating combat in Ukraine, all of which include a Disclaimer that identifies the footage as being from ARMA 3.<\/p>\n<div id=\"ob-read-more-selector\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>Clips from the video game have been misidentified as real war footage throughout the war in Ukraine.
