Liz Cheney is down 30 points to her Republican challenger.<\/p>\n<p>That <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clubforgrowth.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/CfG_WYStatewide_PollingMemo_220526.pdf\">poll found<\/a> Cheney opponent Harriet Hageman (who has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/09\/09\/politics\/trump-endorses-harriet-hageman-cheney-challenger\/index.html\">been endorsed<\/a> by former President Donald Trump) has 56% of the vote while Cheney has 26% of the vote in the GOP primary.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony Bouchard, a Republican state senator, carries 12% of the vote, according to the poll, which also found that 6% of Wyoming voters were undecided.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text__paragraph\">Club for Growth, which is opposing Cheney, polled 400 likely Republican primary voters in Wyoming over the phone between May 24 and 25. The poll has a margin of error of +4.9% at the 95% confidence level.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-text__paragraph\">The polling was conducted this week by the Republican firm, WPA Intelligence, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/05\/27\/cheney-reelection-poll-00035597?nname=playbook&#038;nid=0000014f-1646-d88f-a1cf-5f46b7bd0000&#038;nrid=0000016d-645c-d558-a9ed-e55f61ce0000&#038;nlid=630318\">Politico first reported<\/a>, noting that Club for Growth has not officially endorsed Hageman.<\/p>\n<p>Cheney, who did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Daily Wire, officially filed to again run for her seat in the United States House of Representatives on Thursday, allaying questions about whether the hotly discussed Wyoming Republican would concede to criticism, notably from Trump, and bow out of the race.<\/p>\n<p>Cheney gained quite a few enemies in the GOP through repeated criticism of Trump and her vote to impeach the former president following the January 6 Capitol riot.<\/p>\n<p>She was one of just two Republicans to join House Speaker Nancy Pelosi\u2019s commission investigating the Capitol Riots \u2014 Republican Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger, who also sat on the commission, opted to retire rather than face re-election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe crossed lines no American president has ever crossed before,\u201d Cheney\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/01\/02\/cheney-trump-threat-democracy-526356\">told host<\/a> George Stephanopoulos on ABC\u2019s \u201cThis Week\u201d following the Capitol riot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know, we entrust the survival of our republic into the hands of the chief executive, and when a president refuses to tell the mob to stop, when he refuses to defend any of the coordinate branches of government, he cannot be trusted,\u201d she added of Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Cheney\u2019s announcement came only two days before Trump is scheduled to rally in support of Cheney challenger Hageman, <a href=\"https:\/\/trib.com\/news\/state-and-regional\/govt-and-politics\/rep-liz-cheney-officially-files-for-u-s-house\/article_b6afd2cc-dd2e-11ec-b6de-d7e69927c453.html\">according to the Caster Star-Tribune<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis Save America rally is a continuation of President Trump\u2019s unprecedented effort to advance the MAGA agenda by energizing voters and highlighting America First candidates and cause,\u201d\u00a0a press release about the event said.<\/p>\n<p>Hageman officially filed for the congressional race on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>She strongly criticized Cheney in a previous campaign ad for her \u201crelentless war\u201d on Trump, drawing on the metaphor of riding for the brand, as do the cattlemen and cowboys in Wyoming who are loyal to the person who hired them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLiz Cheney doesn\u2019t know what riding for the brand means,\u201d the narrator in the ad says. \u201cWe sent her to D.C. to be loyal to the outfit that hired her. Be loyal to Wyoming, and our values. Instead of fighting for us, she\u2019s fighting against President Trump.
