Touted as the ideal gathering spot for people who enjoy their coffee &#8220;served with a side of revolution,&#8221; the cafe also sells a variety of anti-capitalist merchandise for profit.<\/p>\n<p>For example, the cafe sells &#8220;People Over Profit&#8221; T-shirts for $31.40 ($40 CAD). The same item sells on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etsy.com\/listing\/1154862082\/gold-embroidery-people-over-profit-anti?click_key=f9bac04b49f144bb07cd198eecaf0cb832f53723%3A1154862082&#038;click_sum=fae5fb96&#038;ref=shop_home_active_3&#038;crt=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Etsy<\/a> for $26.81 ($34.15 CAD). The shop recently started <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CdvmjbrAqEf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">selling<\/a> &#8220;People Over Profit&#8221; sweatshirts\u00a0for $39.19 ($50 CAD), according to the cafe&#8217;s Instagram account. When one Instagram user asked about &#8220;the proceeds&#8221; from selling the anti-capitalist merchandise, the cafe responded defensively: &#8220;It&#8217;s not a charity, it&#8217;s a business.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Anarchist sells a wide variety of merchandise, including tote bags emblazoned with epic mantras such as &#8220;Abolish the Police,&#8221; &#8220;Queer Anarchy Now,&#8221; and &#8220;Eat Vegetables, Ride Bikes, Be Nice, Hail Satan.&#8221; Customers who really hate the <em>Washington Post<\/em>\u00a0can purchase a\u00a0&#8220;Fuck Bezos&#8221; sticker for $5.10 ($6.5 CAD). The same item is available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etsy.com\/listing\/1027785364\/fuck-bezos-amazon-waterproof-vinyl?click_key=ecf0e7f5ebeff4bf6b1aa7ead057bd88323bba26%3A1027785364&#038;click_sum=e6ddf7c5&#038;ga_search_query=bezos&#038;ref=shop_items_search_1&#038;crt=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Etsy<\/a> for $4.55 ($5.80 CAD) and includes free shipping. While enjoying their Marx &#038; Engles [sic], a &#8220;single espresso and piccolo, made with the same beans,&#8221; patrons can peruse the cafe&#8217;s collection of other stickers bearing radical slogans such as &#8220;Destroy Capitalism,&#8221; &#8220;Abolish Prisons,&#8221; and &#8220;Be Gay Do Crimes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The cafe&#8217;s founder <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/blogTO\/status\/1528838175891681280\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">looks<\/a> exactly like you&#8217;d expect him to look.
