And then I did a movie called \u2018The Break-Up.\u2019 I just kinda leaned into the end. I just was like, \u2018You know what, guys? Let\u2019s make this a completely new chapter. Let\u2019s just end everything and then start new.\u2019 It worked great.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aniston and Pitt were married from 2000 to 2005. She went on to marry and divorce Justin Theroux. Pitt was later married to Angelina Jolie from 2014-2019 before their divorce was official.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow you and Portia, no, no,\u201d she added, mentioning DeGeneres\u2019 wife Portia de Rossi.<\/p>\n<p>Aniston asked DeGeneres if she \u201chad any ideas of what she wanted\u201d to do next now that the show is over.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo,\u201d DeGeneres explained. \u201cI know I want to just lay low for awhile. I wanna rest and then I will do something again. I don\u2019t know what it is yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aniston then made a few suggestions as she explained that she would love to see DeGeneres go back and do stand-up. When she dropped the idea of DeGeneres doing some acting, however, the host seemed definitely less thrilled.<\/p>\n<p>On DeGeneres\u2019 final episode, clips of the host\u2019s various entrances over the last 19 years on the air played. In her final monologue, she reflected on how much has changed since that first day, as The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/the-ellen-degeneres-show-airs-final-episode-she-recalls-how-much-show-has-changed-since-the-start\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we started this show, I couldn\u2019t say \u2018gay\u2019 on the show,\u201d Ellen shared. \u201cI was not allowed to say \u2018gay.\u2019 I said it at home a lot. \u2018What are we having for our gay breakfast?\u2019 Or \u2018pass the gay salt.\u2019 [Or] \u2018Has anyone seen the gay remote?\u2019 \u2014 things like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI couldn\u2019t say we, because that implied that I was with someone,\u201d she added. \u201cSure couldn\u2019t say wife, that\u2019s because it wasn\u2019t legal for gay people to get married. And now I say wife all the time. Twenty five years ago they canceled my sitcom because they didn\u2019t want a lesbian to be in primetime once a week.
