Tony Gonzales that the gunman who shot at least 21 people at a Texas elementary school Tuesday was arrested for threatening to shoot up a school four years ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI found out late last night that the shooter was arrested four years ago for having this plan, for basically saying, \u2018When I\u2019m a senior 2022, I\u2019m going to shoot up a school,&#8217;\u201d Gonzales <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/tv\/house-republican-claims-uvalde-school-shooter-was-arrested-four-years-ago-for-threat-to-shoot-up-a-school\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">claimed<\/a> on Fox &#038; Friends early Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Co-host Katie Pavlich noted during the interview that, \u201cThe local authorities have said that he doesn\u2019t have an adult criminal record but that there may be a juvenile record. those are oftentimes sealed and not available to the public consumption.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Rep. Gonzales (R-TX) claimed on Friday that the Texas shooter was arrested four years ago for threatening to shoot up a school.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ks3CfaJ6n0\">https:\/\/t.co\/ks3CfaJ6n0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Disclose.tv (@disclosetv) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/disclosetv\/status\/1530172640077414400?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 27, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin reported on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BillFOXLA\/status\/1530182079853600770\">Twitter<\/a> that law enforcement said that Gonzales\u2019 claims were \u201cincorrect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Law enforcement did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Fox News\u2019s Brian Kilmeade pushed Gonzales on his claims, asking how the shooter allegedly made the threats to shoot up a school.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDid he write this down? Did he post it?\u201d Kilmeade asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know the exact details, but the police arrested him, and they actually submitted a press release on that, stating, \u2018Hey this is what is happening.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gonzales posted the alleged <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepTonyGonzales\/status\/1530190872163323904?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">press release<\/a> on Twitter, saying that, \u201c4 years ago Uvalde PD did their job and identified credible threats to a local school.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are multiple agencies on the ground and I am getting updated information by the minute. We will continue to revise as we learn more,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn April 19, 2018, the Uvalde Police Department received information regarding two male juveniles, ages 13 &#038; 14, planning to conduct a school shooting on their senior year (2022) at the Uvalde High School,\u201d the alleged press release read.<\/p>\n<p>The alleged press release noted that the two individuals were arrested on April 25, 2018, and were taken into custody at the Juvenile Detention Facility in Del Rio, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is now unclear if the shooter was one of the two kids detained,\u201d Gonzales <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepTonyGonzales\/status\/1530190874071781377\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a>, adding, \u201cThere is a clear need for mental health resources in our community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gonzales\u2019 office referred the Daily Caller to his tweet upon request for comment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Law enforcement has denied a claim made by Republican Texas Rep.
