And while they insist you don\u2019t have to be fat, a stoner, or even a babe to coming hiking, it can only help.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just wanted to hang out with like-minded individuals and people who were also introverted and have a hard time getting out of the house,\u201d Amber Strautkalns, who started the club with a missive on Reddit, told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riverfronttimes.com\/arts\/new-inclusive-hiking-club-fat-stoner-babes-started-on-reddit-37788482\">Riverfront Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The stoner-friendly, introvert-loving, body-inclusive hiking club has several more hikes scheduled in the coming months. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/EnawZ7anWp\">https:\/\/t.co\/EnawZ7anWp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Riverfront Times (@RiverfrontTimes) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RiverfrontTimes\/status\/1530008658242838545?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 27, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Strautkalns said she wanted to explore nature on leisurely terms without being surrounded by crunchy fitness fanatics and couldn\u2019t find an established group.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFat stoner babes hiking club??\u201d she wrote on Reddit. \u201cWhere do I find them? Or do I need to create?!?!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It turned out there was demand, but no existing group. She designed a logo and posted it on social media inviting \u201cchubby alterna\u201d parents, or anyone interested, to join \u201cFat Stoner Babes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBasically the deal is this\u2026 I like to get a lil high &#038; go for walks &#038; hikes. Typically I do this solo but sometimes I get lonely &#038; would adore some groovy company,\u201d Strautkalns wrote on the club\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/1206141573457376\">Facebook page<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019ve searched for local hiking groups but haven\u2019t found any that my goofy, mostly introverted, thick ass vibes with. So, here we are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook group now has over 400 members.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m chubby, I like to get high and go for walks,\u201d Strautkalns said. \u201cI\u2019m not trying to hurry to the finish line, and I\u2019m not going for exercise. We\u2019re just gonna get out of the house and get some fresh air.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>About 30 people showed up May 15 for the club\u2019s first outing at Creve Coeur Park, Riverfront Times reported. Fat Stoner Babes has several more hikes in St. Louis parks and nature areas slated for throughout the summer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou don\u2019t gotta be fat. You don\u2019t gotta be a stoner. You don\u2019t have to have the best confidence,\u201d Strautkalns said. \u201cThat\u2019s OK. We\u2019re all here to succeed. Let\u2019s go!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Caroline Berg told Riverfront Times she joined for the same reason Strautkalns started the club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople tend to be hard-core fitness enthusiasts, and that\u2019s not always the vibe that people enjoy,\u201d Berg said.<\/p>\n<p>Recreational marijuana use is illegal in Missouri, but in St. Louis, possession of two ounces or less has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stltoday.com\/news\/reduction-in-marijuana-penalties-approved-by-st-louis-board-of\/article_9336d7d9-cbc3-531a-b512-ec2325ed5ae2.html\">decriminalized<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who ate all the trail mix?
