Her bio also says that she has \u201crepresented progressive candidates in Ohio, including serving as Senator Sherrod Brown\u2019s legal director for his 2012 reelection campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bloomekatz is a practitioner at Bloomekatz Law in Columbus, Ohio, and has clerked for outgoing Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, as well as being an assistant attorney general in Boston, Massachusetts.<\/p>\n<p>In her own practice, Bloomekatz has <a href=\"https:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/6001928b1a7b04326b7e7812\/t\/61b810fb5dc25a103c2a6661\/1639452924221\/Bloomekatz+Resume+December+2021+%281%29.pdf\">worked<\/a> with a group challenging the \u201cstand your ground\u201d law in Ohio, including the Ohio NAACP. She also received the Progressive Young Leadership Award from the Columbus chapter of the American Constitution Society.<\/p>\n<p>After news of her nomination broke, progressive groups like Demand Justice, Earthjustice, and the Alliance for Justice all praised Biden for his judicial picks.<\/p>\n<p>Earthjustice, an environmentalist <a href=\"https:\/\/earthjustice.org\/about\">organization<\/a>, celebrated Bloomekatz\u2019s nomination, saying she would be \u201cthe first public interest environmental lawyer nominated to the federal bench.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt this critical moment where so many of our fundamental rights are at stake, we need judges in her mold who understand the difference between science and politics and will make decisions based on the law and settled precedent,\u201d Earthjustice Legislative Director of the Access to Justice Program Coby Dolan <a href=\"https:\/\/earthjustice.org\/news\/press\/2022\/earthjustice-celebrates-nomination-of-rachel-bloomekatz-to-the-u-s-court-of-appeals-6th-circuit\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Demand Justice, an organization that wants to expand the Supreme Court, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WeDemandJustice\/status\/1529487646954774536\">tweeted<\/a> that Bloomekatz \u201cwould bring much-needed experience representing consumers and workers to a judiciary dominated by corporate lawyers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The progressive group Alliance for Justice, which urges people to \u201cact now to save abortion rights,\u201d applauded Biden\u2019s judicial nominations, including that of Bloomekatz.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnce again, the White House has identified three highly-qualified women to serve on our courts of appeal,\u201d AFJ President Rakim H.D. Brooks said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.afj.org\/article\/afj-applauds-eighteenth-slate-of-judicial-nominees\/\">statement<\/a>. \u201cMs. Bloomekatz\u2019s experience fighting for economic justice, in particular, will be invaluable to the Sixth Circuit as it considers cases impacting consumers and workers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bloomekatz appears to have made several political donations to Democratic candidates over the years. A Rachel Bloomekatz in Columbus, Ohio, working at Gupta Wessler (where Bloomekatz worked from 2016-2019) donated to Ohio Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown in 2017 and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in 2020, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opensecrets.org\/donor-lookup\/results?name=Rachel+Bloomekatz\">data<\/a> from Open Secrets. <\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, a lawyer named Rachel Bloomekatz with the same Columbus-area Ohio zip code (43201) as Bloomekatz Law gave $750 to then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016 and\u00a0a total of $1,750 to Joe Biden during the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Wire has reached out to Bloomekatz to confirm whether the donations were from her or not.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2021\/11\/16\/1056121842\/biden-lawsuit-osha-vaccine-mandate-court-lottery\">NPR<\/a>, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals where Bloomekatz was nominated \u201cis known to lean conservative.\u201d Former President Donald Trump appointed six justices to the Cincinnati-based court while George W.
