Authorities said the floods killed at least 24 people in the northeastern Indian state of Assam by May 23, The Weather Channel <a href=\"https:\/\/weather.com\/en-IN\/india\/news\/news\/2022-05-23-assam-floods-kill-24-affect-719-lakh-rescue-operations-continue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A May 16 video shared on Facebook claims to show the effects of this flooding. It shows a bridge collapsing and being swept away by a mass of water. \u201cSee this flood In Assam .country India,\u201d reads the video\u2019s caption. \u201cHow water in one mints broken the bridge \u2026\u201d\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2018\/09\/18\/fact-check-anderson-cooper-florence-flooding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Do Photos Show Anderson Cooper Exaggerating Flooding From Hurricane Florence?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, the footage predates the recent flooding in India.
