The Nebraska school board association is also reportedly taking steps to leave the national group. <\/p>\n<p>The NSBA&#8217;s September 2021 letter was the basis for a memo issued by Attorney General Merrick Garland in October that authorized the formation of a joint FBI-DOJ task force charged with investigating threats against school board members. <\/p>\n<p>The NSBA later apologized for the letter, while numerous state associations announced they would be leaving the national organization.
