And not for the better.<\/p>\n<p>That should not surprise in the least those who have followed closely what the BLM founders have said and done. \u201cChanging how we\u2019ve organized this country \u2026 dismantling the organizing principle of this society,\u201d as BLM architect Alicia Garza <a href=\"https:\/\/mainebeacon.com\/black-lives-matter-co-founder-maine-can-be-a-leader-in-dismantling-white-nationalism\/\">put it<\/a> in 2019, has always been the goal.<\/p>\n<p>Many people think BLM has gone away. They don\u2019t see\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/07\/03\/us\/minneapolis-government-george-floyd.html\">riots, looting, or burning<\/a>\u00a0in our cities anymore. When they do hear about the main BLM organization, the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (BLMGNF), it is mostly about their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/black-lives-matter-tax-filing-cofounder-paid-800000-brother-security-2022-5\">financial improprieties<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/restoring-america\/fairness-justice\/anger-over-blms-purchase-of-8-1-million-toronto-mansion-grows-as-groups-finances-scrutinized\">mansion-buying sprees<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But BLM doesn\u2019t need to riot anymore. In fact, to do so would be counterproductive. BLM is now inside the door not just with culture-making industries such as the media, Hollywood, and the Academy. BLM now has access to the top reaches of government.<\/p>\n<p>As my colleagues David Ditch, Hans Von Spakovsky, and Erin Dwinell write in a new Heritage Foundation paper, BLMGNF takes credit for helping the Biden administration write the \u201caction plans\u201d released in April throughout the federal bureaucracy.<\/p>\n<p>The plans are designed to impact how every federal agency and department approaches procurement, hiring, and other major decisions. They will make the federal government less efficient, possibly more corrupt, and definitely less able to better the lives of citizens. All in the name of \u201cequity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The power BLM has been able to attain in the past 24 months is as vast as it is unknown. This is mainly because a compliant media does more than just refuse to report on BLM \u2014 it polices those who do. First, though, let\u2019s look at what BLM has wrought.<\/p>\n<p>Today Americans are at loggerheads over the racist application of \u201canti-racist\u201d programs in their children\u2019s schools and in their offices. Our military, rather than concentrate on all-out war, now worries about micro-aggressions.<\/p>\n<p><a>Our <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/haniyahphilogene\/2021\/07\/14\/as-corporations-double-down-on-social-justice-americans-say-they-still-have-a-long-way-to-go\/?sh=672f2ff8b519\">corporate boards<\/a> have gladly jumped on the bandwagon\u2014or at least they did until Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis fought back and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-us-canada-61192982\">punished<\/a> a \u201cwoke\u201d Disney. Even our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-minneapolis-police-usa-religion\/after-george-floyds-death-a-groundswell-of-religious-activism-idUSKBN23G1FS\">houses of worship<\/a> and our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nba\/2022\/01\/17\/national-basketball-social-justice-coalition-one-year-later-daily-cover\">sports leagues<\/a> have become battlefronts. There is no escape.<\/p>\n<p>This is all because of what happened after the harrowing video of Floyd\u2019s killing went viral, and the BLM organizations manipulated the righteous indignation of good Americans. Another BLM co-founder, Patrisse Cullors, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/blm-patrisse-cullors-group-flooded-white-guilt-money\">captured the zeitgeist<\/a> with a comment she made about the tens of millions the organization raised in 2020: \u201cThat was a lot of white guilt money.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, a lot of white guilt brought us to this point. Leaders of institutions threw in the towel and decided to agree with the preposterous proposition that America is an oppressive society in need of systemic overhaul.<\/p>\n<p>By mid-2020, critical race theory huckster Robin DiAngelo\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/07\/15\/magazine\/white-fragility-robin-diangelo.html\">was conducting Zoom training<\/a>\u00a0of 184\u00a0members of Congress, and the Democratic caucus, bedecked in Ghanian-style\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-africa-52978780\">Kente Cloth<\/a>,\u00a0was taking a submissive knee at the Capitol.<\/p>\n<p>The American media has mostly worked to keep the American people in the dark about the true nature of this new force that has already so damaged American polity and society. Former Reuters reporter Zac Kriegman detailed in <a href=\"https:\/\/bariweiss.substack.com\/p\/i-criticized-blm-then-i-was-fired?r=kfl9m&#038;s=r&#038;utm_campaign=post&#038;utm_medium=email\">Bari Weiss\u2019s blog<\/a> earlier this month how the global news service fired him for writing in the agency\u2019s internal sharing platform about BLM facts he had uncovered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had come to the conclusion that the claim upon which the whole movement rested\u2014that police more readily shoot black people\u2014was false. The data was unequivocal. It showed that, if anything, police were slightly <em>less<\/em> likely to use lethal force against black suspects than white ones.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But this information was not permitted. \u201cA pattern was starting to emerge: Reporters and editors would omit key details that undermined the BLM narrative. More important than reporting accurately was upholding\u2014nurturing\u2014that storyline.\u00a0At some point, the organization went from ignoring key facts to just reporting lies,\u201d wrote Kriegman, who is now suing Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, what you get are docile reports from court stenographers, as <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/government-and-politics-race-ethnicity-philanthropy-black-lives-matter-5bc4772e029da522036f8ad2a02990aa\">this AP article<\/a>, which openly reports BLM\u2019s assertions as fact, makes clear.<\/p>\n<p>This is why the vast majority of Americans don\u2019t know that Cullors, Garza, and the other BLM architects were trained for more than a decade trained as organizers by Marxist theoreticians openly interested in gaining power, scaling up from the local to the national and the global, and using members of minorities as revolutionary vanguards.<\/p>\n<p>Mentors such as Eric Mann, the communist who trained Cullors for a decade, have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/books\/edition\/Playbook_for_Progressives\/_tpmDwAAQBAJ?hl=en&#038;gbpv=1&#038;bsq=new%20generation\">never hid their goal<\/a>. In fact, they write about <a href=\"https:\/\/thestrategycenter.org\/1996\/09\/06\/building-the-anti-racist-anti-imperialist-united-front-theory-and-practice-from-the-l-a-strategy-center-and-bus-riders-union\/\">it often<\/a>. All Cullors and the others have done since BLM\u2019s creation in 2013 is implement their plan, as I detail in my 2021 book, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/BLM-Making-New-Marxist-Revolution\/dp\/1641772239\">BLM, The Making of a New Marxist Revolution<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, the American people have awakened to what has happened since Floyd\u2019s death two years ago today. In the 30 or so cities I have traveled to since then, I have found Americans who love their children, their jobs, and their country, and have realized what the moment is.<\/p>\n<p>That is why, on this grim anniversary, I remain optimistic.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<p>\n  Mike Gonzalez, the Angeles T.
