material from them was not presented in subsequent applications for FISA warrants against Page.<\/p>\n<p>A source, in 2019, told Fox News that the &#8220;exculpatory evidence&#8221; that could be included in those transcripts, which were declassified and released in April 2020, was Papadopoulos denying having any contact with the Russians to obtain the supposed &#8220;dirt&#8221; on Clinton.<\/p>\n<p>Fox News obtained the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/george-papadopoulos-fbi-secret-source-transcript\">declassified transcript<\/a>\u00a0of the secretly recorded meeting in April 2020. The transcript revealed the confidential human source pressed Papadopoulos on whether the Trump campaign was involved in Russian election meddling \u2014 something that, the transcript shows,\u00a0Papadopoulos emphatically denied.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/dojs-russia-probe-review-focusing-on-tapes-of-talks-with-trump-aide-sources\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>DOJ\u2019S RUSSIA PROBE REVIEW FOCUSING ON &#8216;SMOKING GUN&#8217; TAPES OF MEETING WITH TRUMP AIDE: SOURCES<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It is unclear if this is the &#8220;exculpatory&#8221; information Heide is under investigation for omitting from the FISA warrant applications.<\/p>\n<p>The transcript, however, is of a more than 4-hour long conversation between<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/george-papadopoulos-fbi-secret-source-transcript\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Papadopoulos and a confidential FBI source<\/a> on Oct. 31, 2016.\u00a0According to the obtained transcripts, the confidential human source (CHS) met with Papadopoulos and asked whether he thought Russians hacked the Democratic National Committee (DNC) ahead of the Democratic National Convention.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image-ct inline\">\n<div class=\"m\"><source media=\"(max-width: 767px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 767px)\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a57.foxnews.com\/static.foxnews.com\/foxnews.com\/content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/640\/320\/FBI-building.jpg?ve=1&#038;tl=1\" alt=\"General view of the J. Calvert)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;No,&#8221; Papadopoulos\u00a0replied.<\/p>\n<p>When asked whether he thought the Russians had &#8220;special interests&#8221; in the election, Papadopoulos said: &#8220;That\u2019s all bullsh&#8211;. No one knows who\u2019s hacking them,&#8221; and added that it &#8220;could be the Chinese, could be the Iranians, it could be some Bernie, uh supporters. Could be anonymous.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Papadopoulos was then asked whether he thought Russians &#8220;have interest in Trump.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/george-papadopoulos-fbi-secret-source-transcript\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>FLASHBACK: TRUMP AIDE DENIED CAMPAIGN RIGGING IN PRE-ELECTION CONVERSATION WITH FBI SECRET SOURCE: TRANSCRIPT<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They, dude, no one knows how a president\u2019s going to govern anyway. You don\u2019t just say, oh I like\u2014,&#8221; he said before being cut off. &#8220;I don\u2019t know. Even Putin said it himself. It\u2019s all, it\u2019s like conspiracy theories.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The source went on to press Papadopoulous, saying: &#8220;I feel like there\u2019s some heavy Trump supporters out there that kind of want to rig this f\u2014king election in Trump\u2019s favor and then at the same time, I don\u2019t know.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Papadopoulos quipped: &#8220;Dude, you, you\u2026 there is no rigging in his favor.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The source pushed him, once again, on whether he thought the Trump campaign had anything to do with hacking of the DNC.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No, I know that for a fact,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I\u2019ve been working with them for the last nine months. The official, at the time, told Fox News that the transcript was just one of a series of productions that the Justice Department made in the wake of DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz&#8217;s report on his review of misconduct of the\u00a0Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).<\/p>\n<p>Horowitz\u00a0wrote in his report, released in December 2019, that &#8220;the\u00a0FBI did not inform of these conversations at the time they occurred&#8221; and the &#8220;FISA renewal applications on Carter Page did not include these statements.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/fbi-trump-russia-alfa-bank-durham-sussmann-trial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>FBI LEADERSHIP WAS &#8216;FIRED UP&#8217; ABOUT ALLEGED SECRET CHANNEL BETWEEN TRUMP-RUSSIAN BANK: SUSSMANN TRIAL<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The transcripts had been classified, but were declassified under former President Trump\u2019s May 2019 move to approve declassification of documents related to the surveillance of his campaign during the 2016 election.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI obtained FISA warrants against Trump campaign aide Carter Page.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The now-discredited anti-Trump dossier which contained alleged ties between Donald Trump and Russia served as the basis for FISA warrants against him.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image-ct inline\">\n<div class=\"m\"><source media=\"(max-width: 767px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 767px)\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a57.foxnews.com\/static.foxnews.com\/foxnews.com\/content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/640\/320\/Carter-Page-Getty-001.jpg?ve=1&#038;tl=1\" alt=\"Former Trump adviser Carter Page.\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"caption\">\n<p>\n      Former Trump adviser Carter Page.<br \/>\n      <span class=\"copyright\">(Chip Somodevilla\/Getty Images)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The dossier was commissioned by Fusion GPS \u2014 an opposition research firm hired by Clinton campaign general counsel Marc Elias to conduct research against Trump. It was authored by ex-British intelligence officer Christopher Steele, and paid for by Hillary Clinton\u2019s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee through law firm Perkins Coie \u2014 where Elias and Sussmann were employed.<\/p>\n<p>Sussmann has been charged with making a false statement to the FBI when he told Baker in September 2016, less than two months before the presidential election, that he was not doing work &#8220;for any client&#8221; when he requested and attended a meeting in which he presented &#8220;purported data and \u2018white papers\u2019 that allegedly demonstrated a covert communicates channel&#8221; between the Trump Organization and Alfa Bank, which has ties to the Kremlin.<\/p>\n<p>Durham\u2019s team alleges Sussmann was, in fact, doing work for two clients: the Hillary Clinton campaign and a technology executive, Rodney Joffe. Following the meeting with Baker, Sussmann billed the Hillary Clinton campaign for his work.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/apps-products?pid=AppArticleLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP<\/u><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sussmann has pleaded not guilty to the charge.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Heide also testified Tuesday he was sent to Washington D.C. in 2016 to join the team investigating Hillary Clinton&#8217;s private email server and handling of classified information.
