The virus was first discovered in 1958 among research monkeys in West Africa, but spread to humans in the early 1970s. While extremely rare and not easily transmitted, a recent outbreak has been traced to gay\u00a0sexual activity at two recent raves in Europe, according to the World Health Organization.<\/p>\n<p class=\"fnmMv geuMB alqtB wqIGQ\">\u201cAre you scared?\u201d Owens asks her audience. \u201cBecause you\u2019re supposed to be scared. Gates recently made news when he acknowledged scientists now realize that COVID-19 has a \u201cfairly low fatality rate, and that it\u2019s a disease mainly of the elderly, kind of like the flu,\u201d observations that got Malone kicked off of social media more than a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>Malone, 63, brings a lifetime of experience to the monkeypox discussion. In the late 1980s, he conducted foundational research that led to development of the mRNA vaccine technology used in the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines. He worked for decades with experts at the National Institutes of Health and with the Pentagon\u2019s Defense Threat Reduction Agency to help develop Ebola vaccinations and repurpose drugs that could treat Zika virus.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, the Malone-led <a href=\"https:\/\/globalcovidsummit.org\/news\/declaration-iv-restore-scientific-integrity\">Global COVID Summit<\/a> released a declaration on behalf of 17,000 physicians and medical scientists calling for an end to the national COVID-19 emergency and accusing a \u201ccorrupt alliance\u201d of government bureaucrats, pharmaceutical and healthcare executives, Big Tech, and media of helping to facilitate \u201ccrimes against humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis corrupt alliance has compromised the integrity of our most prestigious medical societies to which we belong, generating an illusion of scientific consensus by substituting truth with propaganda,\u201d the declaration read. \u201cThis alliance continues to advance unscientific claims by censoring data, and intimidating and firing doctors and scientists for simply publishing actual clinical results or treating their patients with proven, life-saving medicine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Malone <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/candace-owens-sits-down-with-censored-vaccine-scientist-dr-robert-malone-in-exclusive-interview\">previously appeared on Owens\u2019 show<\/a> in January, when he pushed back on claims that he\u2019s \u201canti-vax\u201d and discussed the theory of \u201cmass-formation psychosis\u201d and how it related to pandemic measures taken by governments around the world.
