All along, fans have been wondering how new characters who never appear in the original show fit into the larger narrative. Now at least one of those questions was answered with the death of Howard.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBetter Call Saul\u201d star Rhea Seehorn, who brilliantly depicts Jimmy McGill\u2019s wife and partner in hijinks Kim Wexler, had a strong reaction to learning that Fabian was getting killed off.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Fabian and I are] very close and I love him, and it also was just another side of like oh, right, the show is actually ending,\u201d Seehorn <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2022\/05\/better-call-saul-spoilers-rhea-seehorn-finale-bob-odenkirk-patrick-fabian-breaking-bad-amc-1235030597\/\">told<\/a> Deadline. \u201cLike for real. Like they\u2019re not going to take this back. It\u2019s happening.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fans have been mostly worried about Kim getting killed by Lalo, especially since she isn\u2019t part of Jimmy\u2019s life anymore once he appears as Saul Goodman in \u201cBreaking Bad.\u201d The first half of \u201cBetter Call Saul\u2019s\u201d sixth season focused so much on Kim and Jimmy destroying Howard\u2019s life. That\u2019s why fans found it shocking when all their work at pulling off an elaborate con came to an abrupt end when Lalo pulled out a gun and shot Howard simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.<\/p>\n<p>When asked how Seehorn found out about Howard\u2019s death, she told the publication about her big reaction. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t until we got that script and I audibly gasped,\u201d the actress explained.<\/p>\n<p>She went on to discuss how her character reacted to the surprise death of her former colleague.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had to start digging into how Kim would feel in this moment, and she\u2019s so in control even when things outside of her are out of her control,\u201d Seehorn said. \u201cShe suppresses and compartmentalizes and all that, but as you justifiably saw, there\u2019s this book ending of how she responded last time Lalo came here and how she rose to the occasion and what she does this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Seehorn went on to call the scene \u201ctraumatic\u201d but also inevitable.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was traumatic to think about it and play it then deal with it, much like you\u2019re saying to just deal with this sort of violence, to be that out of the blue and out of context,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The actress continued, saying \u201cAnd yet, I\u2019m playing Kim who is intelligent enough and self-aware enough that I believe that she would understand this is not out of the blue, but it all happens so fast too. It\u2019s like how fast can you even process something like that. I think it\u2019s utter shock at first. Yeah. It\u2019s a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The conversation wasn\u2019t all doom and gloom, however.
