As time goes on, however, the Christian website is, quite literally, standing in the tradition of the biblical prophets by telling the future with uncanny precision.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday evening, Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon released a <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1erwh8THW7KB_Ek2fLBYuIcrsi_9CFc_UthoQ9ChD9SU\/edit#gid=0\">list<\/a> of nearly 70 pieces of satire that he says have come true. \u201cJesters do oft prove prophets,\u201d Dillon remarked, quoting from William Shakespeare\u2019s King Lear.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Please enjoy this collection of Babylon Bee jokes that came true. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Vw0Mj8Mgf8\">https:\/\/t.co\/Vw0Mj8Mgf8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Seth Dillon (@SethDillon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SethDillon\/status\/1528918709577961472?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 24, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think we\u2019re all that good at predicting the future,\u201d Dillon told The Daily Wire. \u201cI think we\u2019re just bad at staying ahead of reality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What are some examples of The Babylon Bee\u2019s fulfilled prophecies? In May 2017, the outlet published an article entitled <a href=\"https:\/\/babylonbee.com\/news\/2-2-4-insists-close-minded-bigot\">\u20182 + 2 = 4,\u2019 Insists Closed-Minded Bigot<\/a> \u2014 a reference to \u201cNineteen Eighty-Four\u201d by George Orwell, in which loyalty to the novel\u2019s totalitarian regime is believing the lie that \u201c2 + 2 = 5.\u201d In December 2021, USA Today covered a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SethDillon\/status\/1468805503799201794?s=20\">debate among math educators<\/a> regarding purported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campusreform.org\/?ID=15409\">racial bias in mathematics<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As time goes on, many of The Babylon Bee\u2019s predictions are fulfilled days after they are publicized. In an article called <a href=\"https:\/\/babylonbee.com\/news\/surviving-inflation-9-easy-ways-to-save-money-on-your-thanksgiving-this-year\">Surviving Inflation: 9 Easy Ways To Save Money On Your Thanksgiving This Year<\/a>, the outlet suggested that Americans should replace turkey with a can of Spam to avoid inflation-related costs. A mere ten days later, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/nbc-thanksgiving-turkey-inflation\">NBC segment<\/a> likewise argued that families should find turkey alternatives due to rising price levels.<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, The Babylon Bee published an article entitled <a href=\"https:\/\/babylonbee.com\/news\/government-disinformation-board-determines-all-criticism-of-government-disinformation-board-to-be-disinformation\">Disinformation Governance Board Determines All Criticism Of Disinformation Governance Board To Be Disinformation<\/a>. Less than three weeks later, President Biden\u2019s Disinformation Governance Board was indeed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/05\/18\/technology\/disinformation-governance-board.html?smtyp=cur&#038;smid=tw-nytimes\">overcome by disinformation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe people working hardest to turn the world into a parody of itself should get most of the credit,\u201d Dillon added. \u201cThey\u2019re the reason our satire comes true.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Babylon Bee editor-in-chief Kyle Mann and managing editor Joel Berry <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZLZSFd78w84\">told The Daily Wire<\/a> that their prophetic gift is rooted in \u201cjust thinking like a leftist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s the most insane thing that these people could do right now? And that\u2019s what\u2019s going to happen in two weeks,\u201d Berry observed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think Democrats every morning just pull up The Babylon Bee, and that\u2019s where they get their policy ideas,\u201d Mann added.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the humor, the team behind The Babylon Bee does indeed draw its mission from their faith.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSatirists deconstruct and mock things, and that\u2019s part of our job. But as Christians, we\u2019re trying to not just do that, but point people beyond that \u2014 to where the truth and where the hope is,\u201d Berry said. \u201cLooking back at the biblical prophets \u2014 people like Daniel, who lived their lives in exile in these foreign lands \u2014 it does lend some perspective, you know?
