FALLON\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>She held meetings with Mexican President Andr\u00e9s Manuel L\u00f3pez Obrador and Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei in June, and visited the border for the first and only time as vice president.<\/p>\n<p>In December, Giammattei <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/08\/kamala-harris-spoke-to-giammattei-once-about-illegal-immigration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">claimed<\/a> Harris had only spoken to him once since being appointed as Border Czar in March. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/13\/psaki-kamala-harris-border-czar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Psaki Refuses To Answer Why Harris Has Been Absent From Key Role As Border Czar)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>She was criticized for taking months to visit the southern border after her appointment, finally <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/25\/kamala-harris-border-trip\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">travelling<\/a> there after 90 days. She once responded she hasn\u2019t been to Europe when pressed on never going to the border under the Biden administration. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/08\/kamala-harris-border-surge-crisis-immigration-lester-holt-weve-been-to-the-border\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>(RELATED: \u2018We\u2019ve Been To The\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Border<\/span>,\u2019\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Harris<\/span>\u00a0Says, Then Immediately Admits She Hasn\u2019t Been To\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Border)<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Harris proclaimed a plan for the border crisis in July, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2021\/07\/29\/u-s-strategy-for-addressing-the-root-causes-of-migration-in-central-america\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">stating<\/a>\u00a0that the \u201cAdministration will consistently engage in the region to address the root causes of migration.
