We remain committed to holding China to account.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nury Turkel, co-founder and chair of the Uyghur Human Rights Project, also condemned China\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we\u2019re dealing with is an industrial-scale concentration camp system, a modern-day, tech-supported genocide,\u201d Turkel <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UyghurCongress\/status\/1528715870314315777\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a>. \u201cWhat more do they want to see in order to act? I don\u2019t understand. Never again is happening again, right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The BBC report blasted the inhumane treatment of the Uyghur people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe documents provide some of the strongest evidence to date for a policy targeting almost any expression of Uyghur identity, culture or Islamic faith \u2013 and of a chain of command running all the way up to the Chinese leader, Xi Jinping,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/extra\/85qihtvw6e\/the-faces-from-chinas-uyghur-detention-camps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> stated.<\/p>\n<p>New Mexico Republican Rep. Yvette Herrell (@RepHerrell) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepHerrell\/status\/1529130846292217859?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 24, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The news comes shortly after research by The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/five-woke-companies-that-benefit-from-uyghur-slave-labor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">documented<\/a> that a February 2020\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ad-aspi.s3.ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com\/2021-10\/Uyghurs%20for%20sale%2020OCT21.pdf?VersionId=zlRFV8AtLg1ITtRpzBm7ZcfnHKm6Z0Ys\">report<\/a>\u00a0from the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI), the Chinese Communist Party has facilitated \u201ca state-sponsored labour transfer scheme\u201d of \u201cUyghur and other ethnic minority citizens from the far west region of Xinjiang to factories across the country.\u201d Living in segregated dormitories and forced to undergo ideological training outside of work hours, these Uyghurs \u2014 many of whom are Muslims \u2014 are forbidden from practicing their religion or otherwise expressing dissent with their government.<\/p>\n<p>Many former inmates of Uyghur detention camps have\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/2020\/7\/28\/21333345\/uighurs-china-internment-camps-forced-labor-xinjiang\">experienced<\/a>\u00a0torture and sexual abuse as part of their \u201cre-education\u201d process. One female survivor\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/12\/18\/uyghur-women-recall-horrors-of-chinas-labor-camps\/\">recalled<\/a>\u00a0getting removed from the streets by law enforcement, enduring gang rape, and being forced to take sterilization pills.
