The delivery is part of a plan authorized by President Joe Biden to import more foreign baby formula to curb the ongoing national shortage.<\/p>\n<p>An image shared on Facebook claims there may be an easier solution to the shortage. The image shows a screenshot of a tweet that reads, \u201cMy grandma couldn\u2019t nurse one of her babies. She bought a goat and gave her baby raw goat\u2019s milk. That baby is in her 90s and is as healthy as a horse. There\u2019s a baby formula shortage? Buy a goat! It\u2019s far healthier than baby formula.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This claim is inaccurate. Goat milk is not a healthy alternative to baby formula, according to medical experts. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/05\/18\/fact-check-baby-formula-shortage-border-image\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does This Photo Show Stacks Of Baby Formula Boxes At The Border In May 2022?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you mean as a sole source of infant nutrition \u2013 This is a hard false,\u201d said University of Rochester Assistant Pediatrics Professor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urmc.rochester.edu\/people\/22564979-bridget-e-young\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dr. Bridget Young<\/a> in an email to Check Your Fact when asked about the claim.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/jenna-anding-1b186710\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dr. Jenna Anding<\/a>, a professor and extension specialist with the Texas A&#038;M AgriLife Extension Service, concurred with this assessment. \u201cGoat milk is not recommended as a substitute for infant formula,\u201d she said in an email to Check Your Fact.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGoat\u2019s milk does not have the appropriate nutrition to help babies grow properly,\u201d Yale Pediatric Primary Care Center Medical Director Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yalemedicine.org\/specialists\/maryellen_flaherty-hewitt\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-link-type=\"Internal\">Maryellen Flaherty-Hewitt<\/a> told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yalemedicine.org\/news\/baby-formula-shortage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Yale Medicine<\/a>.
