Ted Cruz (R-TX) highlighted Biden\u2019s remark during an interview on Fox News, saying that it was another example of Biden effectively having been wrong on every single issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reason they\u2019re wrong 100 out of 100 times, is they\u2019ve handed the agenda over to the radical Left, to the socialists,\u201d Cruz said. \u201cIt\u2019s Bernie Sanders. It\u2019s AOC. It\u2019s Elizabeth Warren. And socialist policies don\u2019t work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo you take energy, listen $4.71 today is the average price of gas nationwide,\u201d Cruz said. \u201cJoe Biden isn\u2019t unhappy about that. He\u2019s in Tokyo celebrating saying, \u2018it\u2019s an incredible transition.\u2019 Yeah, incredible for you, you fly a damn 747 where the taxpayers pay for your jet fuel. What Joe Biden is saying is if you at home, if you drive a pickup truck, to hell with you, you can\u2019t drive your pickup truck. If you have a Suburban you got to get rid of that, if you\u2019ve got a minivan you got to get rid of that, we\u2019re all getting Toyota Priuses, although he\u2019s gonna pitch it as we\u2019re all getting Teslas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is the most arrogant contempt for working men and women in this country,\u201d Cruz concluded. \u201cAnd that is the view of the hard Left. Let them eat cake. John Kerry as he flies, his private jet all over the globe, says, \u2018Gosh, you got to give up your pickup truck because I care so much about the environment,\u2019 and it\u2019s just it\u2019s cruel and messed up and I think the American people are really seeing it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In response to Biden\u2019s comments, House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) wrote on Twitter \u201cthey\u2019re saying the quiet part out loud now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re causing you pain at the pump because it\u2019s all part of their radical agenda,\u201d Scalise said.<\/p>\n<p>Fox Business anchor David Asman echoed Scalise\u2019s remark, suggesting that Biden had said the quiet part \u201cout loud.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHigher gas prices are good for you. This is a transition period into the paradise of a Green New World. We\u2019ll all be better off after this \u2018incredible transition,&#8217;\u201d Asman wrote. \u201cThis is the language of Utopianism.
