The company issued a voluntary recall of 50-varities of it\u2019s peanut butter, including creamy, natural, crunchy, reduced fat and several others.<\/p>\n<p>Salmonella can cause symptoms including fever, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. Symptoms typically start to show between 12-to-72 hours. Currently, 14 people have reported illnesses and two of those cases have resulted in hospitalizations, according to data provided by the CDC.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cFive out of five people reported consuming peanut butter,\u201d the FDA said. \u201cFour of the five people specifically reported consuming different varieties of Jif brand peanut butter prior to becoming ill.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The bad batch was manufactured in Kentucky and the company said to look out for the jar\u2019s seven-digit bar code ending in 425.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The FDA, along with CDC and state and local partners, are investigating a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Senftenberg infections linked to certain Jif peanut butter products produced at the J.M. Smucker Company facility in Lexington, Kentucky. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/tflb2yhDFh\">https:\/\/t.co\/tflb2yhDFh<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/mb1SdpHJIb\">pic.twitter.com\/mb1SdpHJIb<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 U.S. FDA (@US_FDA) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/US_FDA\/status\/1528049067376377856?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 21, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/foodsafety\/communication\/salmonella-food.html\">According to the CDC<\/a>, Salmonella can transfer onto other surfaces if their is contact with the contaminated food.
